I'm not having any trouble understanding the plain fact that the literal words are in contradiction, anyone can see that. The resolution is to realize that one or both are not to be interpreted literally.

Seems to me, calling someone shallow who doesn't share your opinion of things is pretty shallow in it self...among other things. So, the only way I can consider myself smart/deep/not shallow is to agree with you? Does that really work for you...I mean do people really fall for that one and give you your way?

They claim that your Bible is wrong; that all the religious publishers who have worked so hard at making their publications as accurate as possible; are lying about what the original text states. They call you ignorant; stupid; anti-intellectual. They pretend they are smarter than you despite their inability to construct proper sentences. They pretend they are better educated despite not being able to demonstrate any evidence of what they supposed have learned. No, the truth is that they are lying and are using whatever tactics they can to undermine your faith. Your belief bothers them. They who lack faith cannot stand the presence of those of us who have faith.

I don't post for them. I could care less for their deceit, their arrogance and their intentional lies. I post for those of us who believe; who love and trust the Lord. The Bible was written to be read by the faithful. It can be understood by even the simple minded if they have the Holy Spirit with them. In fact, a retarded man with the Holy Spirit has more wisdom than the most brilliant atheist, because He has a connection to the Holy Spirit.

And thus the proof of the lie. The lie is strata and dating are accurate. When they are not. There are plenty of examples where dating has been faulty and rock strata does not fit the prescribed theory thus making the theory moot. Evolution is a farce and a man made theory with no actual proof. There is no,proof because it cannot be observed or duplicated. It based on assumptions and suppositions.

Nonsense! There is plenty of observable proof of old earth evolution of life validated by radiometric dating. The absence of proof of a singular YEC event is what must be defended because there isn't any. I do not wish to be offensive, my contention here is that while the plain and obvious word of God can indeed be trusted the words of God in the Bible are carefully chosen, even the placement of the every jot and tittle has its meaning and that diligent study may reveal deeper levels of understanding.

Clearly a person who takes the surface English translation meaning of a Hebrew text at face value has not delved as deeply into the scripture, or understanding of the created order, as one who has spent time to gain understanding of the original text and its possible meanings and the way in which they might relate to the observed world.
This person may therefore be considered to have a more shallow understanding.

Of course diligent study and intelligent people will come up with different takes on the deeper understandings and so it is up to us as children of God to be open to alternative views even while expressing our own view points, full of grace and Love and not loosing sight of Christ our Lord.

There is an apparent conflict between the observation of the long ages of the universe and what God has told us. There is a consistent resolution of that conflict when the nuances of the Hebrew language are considered and space time relativity is taken into account.

There is, however, "erev" (chaos) and then when God speaks there is "boker" (order).
