When you say hot dog, is it the type of meat or any type of meat?

Like Italian sausage:

Bratwurst:

Kielbasa:

Because yes. All of the above.
I vote Italian Sausage. :yum:

No, it's not. That's like some sick experiment gone awry.

Because no. None of those are called hot dogs for a reason: they aren't.

? As opposed to all those synthetic hot dogs out there?

Putting (only!) ketchup on a hot dog is humane???

That's it! Any more of this insane blaspheming and I'm reporting you people!
Most hotdogs have antibiotics which are both cruel to animals and bad for human health.

That's awesome but how does that work on a grill?
It could if you have charcoal and flames. :D
Using a fire pit is cool, you put it on a dog holder and sit there watching the flames.
Hmmmmm :yum:

I get mine from my butchers who make their own hot dogs, 10x better than anything you get in the Stores (referring to US stores, they're actually 100x better than anything you get in the UK stores cause ICK:sick: hot dogs should never come out of a tin can...)

Dogs must be BBQed over charcoal. I make my own chili & cloud buns (Gluten free) & piles of artisan cheese from the local dairy. & some chopped onion.

Buying locally from small business owners is the way I like to shop too. Buying from chain grocery stores and other businesses takes money out of the local economy. The wages they pay do not, in my opinion, offset this economic drain.

Hot dogs are intesines swept up off the meat packing floor. They are totally awesome and as American as baseball and Apple pie.
You should be in sales!
Nope. lol

I agree. I have a very small charcoal grill on my balcony. I am not much of a general cook, but I can grill a ribeye to the perfect rare state that I prefer. I do pretty good with burgers, brats, Italian sausage and hot dogs.

Not from the floor. In many cultures it is wrong to not use as much of an animal as possible. Not to do so is an insult to the sacrifice the animal made for us to be fed. Hotdogs, sausages, etc etc are ways for man to consume as much of the animal as is possible and they are tasty and enjoyable.

I think I've had proper hot dogs around maybe three times?
One of those times were while in Florida(on Holiday/vacation), for lunch...spent the evening with an upset stomach, so that could of gone better!

Will risk the awful tinned kind once or twice a year. If only to get rid of them.

What kind of sausages are traditionally used?(I should probably look through the thread before asking that...)

The only way to BBQ :)
pfft. Give me a gas grill any day. While you're whiffing lighter fluid and waiting (and waiting...and......) for the coals to get "just right," I'll have cooked and eaten 2 or 3 hot dogs and probably finished off a beer. "The charcoal taste" is grossly overrated.

Not from the floor.
Pretty sure that was a joke. :)

Vegan hot dog? What are they made out of?
Carrot intestines swept out of the dirt.

;)
