Mmmm...chili dogs.

Take one bun and split lengthwise. Butter then toast on grill. Take two frankfurters and split lengthwise and lay them on bun so the meat covers the entire real estate of the bun. Cover generously with chili, sharp cheddar cheese, and minced onions. Yes, please.

"Nah, this stuff isn't getting to me, the shootings, the knifings, the beatings, old ladies being bashed in the head for their social security checks... Nah, that doesn't bother me. But you know what does bother me? You know what makes me really sick to my stomach? It's watching you stuff your face with those hotdogs. Nobody, I mean nobody puts ketchup on a hot dog."

I prefer mine roasted over a fire pit, outside. :)
Most things are better that way. Meats at least. :)

lmao sp - thought of that but didn't think anyone would remember it :)

I like Kosher hot dogs
I give up, what does that mean? Blessed by a rabbi? Came from Jewish hogs? ;)

A little surprised only one person ever likes a hot dog with the classic ketchup/mustard/relish combo. Not really my pref, just thought it would be more popular.

As for the Dirty Harry quote: Remember, I am a pistol shooter.

Kosher Hot Dogs contain no pork products, and use higher quality cuts of beef and sometimes chicken that were slaughtered is accordance with Kosher practice. Hebrew National and Nathan's are readily available in grocery stores. I buy a lot of my meat from a small butcher shop, and his hot dogs are to die for.

Is that what y'all are calling it now ;) Interesting about the butcher's dogs. My dad was a butcher but he bought his in bulk elsewhere. :) I have long looked/hoped for better than your average bear hot dogs ie healthier...tried tofu dogs once, smelled so bad that was that, and frankly (sorry had to use that) not much healthier than regular ones, just didn't have the nitrites. Then I found some in the store the other day by someone called Applegate...not cured, so no nitrates, also very low sodium content. I think we have a winner.

Kosher dogs are very common in the Northeast.

Time for a serious topic!

PS: please note you can vote for multiple things if you like them in diff ways.
I don't. Not since I watched a food channels reporting as to how they're made and what goes into the making of them.
Very disappointing. I'd have rather remained ignorant so I could continue to enjoy an all beef hot dog with homemade Cincinnati chili with spicy brown mustard dops on top.
Or, all beef with sauerkraut and spicy brown. But nooo, I had to say to myself, hey, that documentary about hot dogs looks interesting. I think I'll give it a look.

Yes, here as well. I just never knew what "kosher" meant. It seems a varying and slippery definition to get hold of.

I saw it, or something similar. Didn't bother me, or the other stupid stuff people say about them. Although I try to buy ones relatively healthier, I'm not eating them for health reasons. :)
