  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the greatest evidence against the theory of evolution...?

The changes required for DNA to not form a double helix would prevent every protein in your body from working properly.
Sorry ... not buying that.

That's like saying if you replaced a spiral staircase in a building with a straight staircase the electricity wouldn't work.

Why can't you present the evidence in your own words?
So you guys can then come back with: "Show me a peer-reviewed journal to said effect"?

Do you trust the opinion of phd biologists, on the topic of biology?
Organisms adapt to their environment.
I think that's called fenotypical variation, not genotypical.
Although genes can be switched on and off also.
You expect data corruption to cause purposeful adaptations within a few generations.

Do you understand what causes DNA to form a double helix?

Why do we look human instead of looking like a fish or a tree? Is it because of our genotype?

Here is a comparison of the human and chimp genome. Which of the differences between the genomes are you saying is data corruption?

I can't.

I'm going to assume though, that you made it up.

My prerogative, of course.

And if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

It won't be the first time.

Nope.

And believe me, I'm not going to let you drag me down into a scientific discussion.

I'll get vegomaticked.

I work with DNA and proteins all of the time. DNA forms a helical structure because of the charges in the atoms themselves, and their interaction with water. It is the same interactions that cause proteins to fold into their tertiary structures which they need in order to have function. No DNA helix, no functional proteins.

Perhaps that is just because you get your information from creationist sources.
Wrong and then you actually quote talk origins showing us your bias. This is proof of what I have been saying all along, you accuse others of what you are guilty of. In fact I just posted that I am pretty strict NOT to use biased web sites. We are dealing with text book science, and what is actually going into the text books.

So what?

Prior to the Fall, perhaps those "charges in the atoms themselves" weren't strong enough to twist DNA?

Your CLIPBOARD EXPLANATION isn't going to trump my GOD DID IT pet theory.

Then they weren't strong enough to allow proteins to fold into the structures they need to form functional enzymes. The result is no life.

You need DNA to build protein. So maybe it would be more like having an electrician build a staircase. I think they call that an escalator.
