• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the greatest evidence against the theory of evolution...?

... greatest evidence against the theory of evolution?

Evolution can happen at breakneck speeds over just a few generations.
That's adaptation of the organism, has nothing to do with random mutations.
Genes can be switched on or off though.

Yes, I know. It's called sarcasm. Look it up.
Sarcasm: use of Irony to convey contempt or mock.
Irony: expression of one's meaning by language that usually signifies the opposite.

I am sorry, you need to look up Sarcasm, because you clearly do not know what it means. You made a pretensive statement, not a sarcastic one, as no oppositional element was implied, you attempted a failed reductio ad absurdam by applying incorrect terms.

What laws of science exist for life itself?
What causes life to reproduce itself?
Why does life want to exist?
What benefit does evolution of life provide to an environment?:How is the evolution of life beneficial to a particular environment?
How does simple life become complex?
What advantage is simple life over complex life?
Why did simple life evolve in the first place?
Why did the original simple life exist?
What is the advantage of complex life over simple life?
simple. Increased survival.

That's fine for the individual and species, but how does survival help the environment?
Global warming is good?
Um, evolution isn't about helping the environment. In fact, you could argue that all complex biological life harms the environment, or at least alters it.

Evolution is about transmission of genes. Not environmentalism.

And how did this ability come to be?

SO what is the evolutionary explanation for why evolution exists or continues?

Um, I already told you. Increased survival.

Or, if one wishes to be technical, increased probability of gene transmission.

I'm seeing a lot of assertions that 'x' is a challenge for ToE but no actual support for those assertions.

For example 'no professors among chimps' or 'dna' or 'the universe is not infinite'.

These may all be correct but how do they actually pose a challenge to ToE?

No support for asserting evolution, the only challenge is to de-programme people form believing in dead unconscious things performing miracles for no reason, which we all have been force fed with for decades now.

And how does that benefit the system outside of the individual?
Why did the reproduction process begin and what causes it to continue?

Increased survivability of the species
Why did the reproduction process begin
When, exactly, is open to discussion, however it occurred as an iterative advance that started with bacterial plasmid exchange
and what causes it to continue?
Seriously? Well, OK, increased survival.

That doesn't sound like cause and effect to me.
Funny thing about strawman descriptions based on willful ignorance.

Evolution is an emergent property in all known systems of imperfect replicators.
