  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, I figured that.Yes ... I admit ... it gave me a chuckle! :)I've always claimed I support 95% of what science concludes.

Here's an example from years ago.
Still odd that you would bother to say "science can take a hike" when what you really mean is "my highest authority is not in Linnaeus's Kingdom", Kingdom being the first part of the classification system. Or, perhaps "The Kingdom I belong to is not Animalia", that would fit you quite well, don't you think?

That's my style.

Anything that contradicts the Bible gets a "can take a hike" from me.

For example, I refuse to consider myself a Homo sapiens.

Thus I could either say, "Linnaeus can take a hike" or "Science can take a hike."

Either way, I get my point across.

Don't worry AV, I still consider you to be H. sapiens. ;)

You have to admit, I'm not too shabby at coming up with quick quips :p
"The Kingdom I belong to is not Animalia" belongs on a sign, I swear.

Most sources I find still say that comets have H2O in them. Not my area of expertise though, so I am just going to leave this to people that know more about space related items.

What else do you expect them to say, they have no other theory to replace what has been falsified because they wont accept the truth how water is formed - even if they are discovering left and right by this process?

http://www.space.com/27377-moon-water-origin-solar-wind.html

http://www.space.com/24422-solar-wind-makes-water-star-dust.html

http://web.gps.caltech.edu/~phayne/diviner/cwatkins/Moses_watersource_Icarus_1999.pdf

But now refuse to apply that process to comets, because it would go against their 200 year old theory they they have spent so much wasted time developing. Regardless if comet material samples have never shown any water and instead shown only silicates. No matter that every comet surface was hot and dry. No matter that every comet that disintegrated never showed a drop of water from the "hidden" ices in the core.

Comets are the acid test of formation theories - if you accept your comet formation theories are wrong - you must accept your solar system formation theories are wrong - galactic formation theories..... It starts a ball rolling they do not want to start.

Because they don't want to be students in the coming paradigm shift, but want to retain the mantle of expert.

I hardly see how demonstrating comets do not contain water in any form would mess stuff up that badly. It is the most common compound in the universe, so there are many, many other ways that water could get on earth besides comets.

But, again, space is not my specialty, so I don't want to get deeply involved in a debate in which I don't feel well-informed. Biology is my "area of expertise" so to speak.
