  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ooooo!

The Vulgate!

Is that the thing that convinced you that the KJB and "subsequent derivations of that translation" were the only ones that said "Godhead"?

Or were you just saying that and hoping I wouldn't investigate it?

That was adopted about 400 BC. And I do understand that you prefer modern revisions. But St. Paul spoke in koine Greek. θειότης (theiotes) translates to "divinity" or "divine nature."

You lose again. BTW, you were going to substantiate your claim that two men were homosexuals. When will you back that up with more than rumors?

Either that, or "YE creationism" forces those sitting on the fence to declare their intentions.

At some point, you're going to have to decide if your new doctrine of YE is more important to you than the body of Christ. It won't send you to hell, if you don't accept His word in Genesis, but you don't want to separate yourself from the body of believers, just to maintain your modern belief.

Cute.

You mean "wrote" in Koine Greek?

No argument there.

So?

What's your point?

Are you saying Paul used that word?

Where are you getting your information?

You seem to think this is some kind of game we're playing, don't you?

The fact is, the more you post, the wronger you are.

I've called you out on your remark about "Godhead" being only in the KJB and ff.; and all you want to do is argue side issues all of a sudden.
The Barbarian said:

Google is your enemy.

I have this feeling that creationism was around long before evolution was invented.

And for the record -- (and I just noticed this) -- I thought you were using "YE" sarcastically.

But now I see you [probably] mean "young earth."

And in that vein: I'm not a young earth creationist.

I'm an embedded age creationist.

Cool.

What does myself not being a scientist have to do with you making a claim about my personal life?

So, here we go. You have made claims about my personal life, lets see if you can support these claims, by explaining what specific evidence you used to reach these conclusions, rather than just making vague claims.

Ball is in your court to support your bold claims. By the way, are you a psychologist?

Hi,

Okay yes and no. The no part is, you have never understood a single thing in science, I have talked about.

Prove something anything, that would lead me to believe, that you would understand the science behind my work, on you?????

Something!

Anything for starters!

Start by answering the questions below.,

I have answered all of those questions to you.

First things first. You have in the past refused to answer questions that I have answered.

How many would you guess, solo, problems have you solved at work?

How many solo research projects have you done, at a guess?

What schools did you graduate from?

What is the name of all the degrees that you hold?

What is your present job title and what do you do for a living?

What is your work history?

Have you defended your thesis?

What was your thesis on?

How were the Orals, if you have a Ph.D.?

What was the toughest question you were asked?

If you have one or several Honorary Ph.D.'s, for what work were you given those distinctions???

LOVE,

LOVE,

I will ask one more time, for clarification sake:

What does all this word salad above, have to do with you supporting the claims you have made about my personal life, by presenting specific evidence to support your claims.

Please, no more word salad, just the objective facts where you specifically point out evidence to support the claims you have made about my personal life.

Let's see if you can stay focused on just supporting your claims and not muddy the waters by evading the same.

Hi,

LOVE,

Why would I need to engage myself with needless questions, for you to support the claims you have already made about my personal life?

Is that the way it works in your world? Make personal claims about someone and then demand they answer a list of questions?

As I stated before; revealing!

In all the extremists, not the moderates, I found something quite unexpected. Honesty. Morality. Ethics.
Some are consistent purists then there are those like Neil Degrasse Tyson that flip flop back and forth between being moderate and extremism. It is funny that the extremists are the purists and the moderates are the turn coats that are just as quick to sell science IE their own children down the river.

Extreme Atheists, just don't believe in the version of God being shoved down their throats, or represented by churchs that also allow heinous acts, or who have done heinous acts.
I found the same thing. I do not believe in the God that they do not believe in. They simply do not know God.

Hi,

The key to God, is honesty.

Hi,

So why do you care, is it because you'd like to find someone, who is actually objectively honest that can help you understand God better?

Hi,

Rating yourself on a scale of 1-7: To what extent do you agree with the statement: I am a narcissist? Note: The word narcissist means egotistical, self-focused and vain.

LOVE,

How do you rate yourself on your ability to objectively support personal claims you have made about others?

Will you support the personal claims you have already made, or continue to avoid doing so?

Hi,

Well I guess that study was incorrect.

Until this becomes, a two way conversation, and you start answering questions, we are done.

Even this last question you have refused to answer.

Barbarian, regarding the Vulgate:
That was adopted about 400 BC.

You were there?

Thousands of writers who commented on it. St. Jerome was well-known, and his work discussed in writing by many contemporaries.

Barbarian observes:
And I do understand that you prefer modern revisions.

But St. Paul spoke in koine Greek.

You mean "wrote" in Koine Greek?

No, koine Greek was the common speech in most of the areas in which St. Paul preached.

It developed through the spread of Greek following the conquests of Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC, and served as the common lingua franca of much of the Mediterranean region and the Middle East during the following centuries. It was based mainly on Attic and related Ionic speech forms, with various admixtures brought about through dialect levelling with other varieties.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koine_Greek

It wasn't just a written language. It is the common (koine) language used in most of the Roman Empire. It's the language St. Paul used in daily life.

Barbarian explains why "Godhead" is a mistranslation:
θειότης (theiotes) translates to "divinity" or "divine nature."

Just pointing out the obvious.

Are you saying Paul used that word?

It's the very word he used.

Where are you getting your information?

Strong's for example, says it means "divinity", although some have abstracted it to mean "Godhead."

Barbarian observes:
You lose again.

You seem to think this is some kind of game we're playing, don't you?

That is the impression you leave with people, yes.

I've called you out on your remark about "Godhead" being only in the KJB and ff.;

Or others derived from it. But as you just learned, the original says "divinity."

Barbarian reminds:
BTW, you were going to substantiate your claim that two men were homosexuals. When will you back that up with more than rumors?

(AV1611VET declines to do so)

Just checking. Thanks for making that clear.

Nope. As we know it today, invented in the early 1900s. Evolution was "invented" around 2 billion years ago, by the same One who invented everything else.

And in that vein: I'm not a young earth creationist.
I'm an embedded age creationist.

Just for the record, are you telling me that you think the Earth is vastly older than 6,000 years?
