  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dead is dead.

1 John 5:16-18 says there are sins that do not lead unto death.
One example of this would be a believer refusing to obey the Command to be baptized. For Peter says that baptism does not put away the filth of the flesh (i.e. sin) (1 Peter 3:21). So this is sin that does not lead unto spiritual death.

Also, speaking bad against the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven either in this life or in the one to come (i.e. the Millennium).
The Eternal Security Proponent's interpretation on this verse does not make any sense. How so?
Well, there will be no unbelievers in the world to come or the Millennium. Jesus Christ will live and reign in the Millennium (i.e. for 1,000 years). So people are not going to be doubting the existence of Jesus because he will be living upon the Earth.
But people can be unforgiven if they speak bad words against the Spirit even in the Millennium (i.e. or the world to come).

So, Jesus only paid the wage for some sins, eh?

So, Jesus only paid the wage for some sins, eh?

Jesus paid the price for both sins that lead unto death and sins that do not lead unto death.
But Jesus did not pay the price for unforgivable sins like speaking bad words against the Holy Spirit because He said it was a sin that could not be forgiven.

Oh, and do you believe that Jesus will live and reign in the Millennium?
I am just wondering because the whole "unbeliever rejecting salvation" interpretation on Jesus mention on blaspheming the Spirit can never be forgiven does not add up with the rest of Scripture. For Jesus says this sin will not be forgiven in this life or the one to come (i.e. the Millennium).
In other words, this means you must believe there will be unbelievers in the Millennium. Is this true?

Well, which is it? You can't have it both ways.

I can say the same for you. You cannot have it both ways. A believer cannot sin (Which is a part of the devil's Kingdom) and also serve God and be in His good graces. For Jesus said you cannot serve two masters, for you will hate the one and love the other.

Are you a Believer?
Yes, I am a believer in Jesus Christ. You can see my side profile that it says I am an "Agent for Christ." Unbelievers do not usually say that. Also, you could have also checked out a link (to a thread here at CF) in my info or bio page so as to read my statement of faith, too. In other words, you didn't need to ask this type of question, my friend (When it could have easily be discovered on your own).

Are you without sin?

Now? Yes, I am not sinning now. Are you sinning now?
Do you believe you can stop sinning for 5 minutes? How about for 1 hour? Can you do it for 1 day? I sure have. Haven't you?

If you have sin then, according to you, you are a part of the devil's Kingdom.

No, because God provides grace and mercy are for those confess and forsake their sin.

See Proverbs 28:13, 1 John 1:9, and 1 John 1:7.

For Sanctification is God's will for our life (1 Thessalonians 4:3).

For without holiness, no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

This Sanctificaiton leads to overcoming sin.
For they that have suffered in the flesh have ceased from sin (1 Peter 4:1).
For they that are Christ's have crucified the affections and lusts (Galatians 5:24).
The 144,000 had no fault before God's Throne (Revelation 14:4-5).

A good analogy would be that of an alcoholic who desires to become sober.

The true believer is like the alcoholic who may stumble on his road to recovery in overcoming his sin of being addicted to alcohol.

The Eternal Security Proponent is like the alcoholic who joins a program to be sober but he has no real intention of ever giving up the drink.

Sanctification is not justification.

I did not say Justification is Sanctification.
Justification is another way of saying of being "declared righteous" (As I am sure you will agree with).

Justification is Initial Salvation in coming to the Lord by repenting of your sins to the Lord.
Sanctification is Continued Salvation in walking with the Lord in His good ways so as to be made holy.
Glorification is the End of Salvation where God takes the believer home to be with Him.

And as for the rest....

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son" Col 1:13

Verse 14 says we have redemption thru his blood and the forgiveness of his sins.

How do you make sure that the blood is cleansing you of sin as a believer?

1 John 1:7 says,
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

Also, Colossians 3 says this, too,

5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience:
7 In which you also once walked, when you lived in them."
(Colossians 3:5-7)

Did you catch that? We are told to mortify our members involving fornication, covetousness, idolatry, etc. (of which such things abide the Wrath of God). For if one is not obeying God they are a child of disobedience and the Wrath of God then abides on them. Verse 7 says we ONCE walked (PAST TENSE) in these types of sins when we lived in them. So sin is supposed to be something that is a part of your old life and not a part of your new life in Christ.

What does any of that have to do with anything??
