  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When people Gossip and talk behind your back can this cause spiritual attack (demon curses)

We have the power with the words from our mouth to bless and also to curse

When people gossip and say negative things about you can the this be like word curses?

Words are very powerful, are people cursing others without even realising it?

We are called to control our thoughts and our tongues

God bless
No.

It can certainly be very hurtful and destructive, though. But that's all down to human nature, no demons required.

You don't believe in word curses?

Words are powerful, God spoke the world into existence.

Scripture says God is the word,

The word is the truth and the truth is God

The Father the word and the holy Ghost are one

The power to curse= criticism a put down can kill self esteem (this is the power of words)

Bless=giving someone a complement can raise self esteem and make someone happy (this is the power of words)

How much power do words hold when spoken behind a persons back?

God may have spoken the world into existence, but He's God. I don't think mere humans' words have the same power. As for curses? Maybe. Pretty sure there has to be intent, though. I don't think you can "accidentally" curse anyone by gossiping about them.

Words are like seeds, there's good seeds and bad seeds.

You sow the seeds, if they find root they will grow.

There are shepherds in the worlds, few good, many bad.

The sheep follow

This is word of faith heresy you are spewing, not biblical truth.

Luke 8
New International Version
The Parable of the Sower

1After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.

4While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable:5“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture.7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants.8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”

When he said this, he called out,“Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

9His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,

“ ‘though seeing, they may not see;

though hearing, they may not understand.’a

11“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.15But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Verse 11 "the seed is the word of God"

First, this is a parable, so it should be read as such. It in no way gives the idea that all words are seeds. Second, it's the soil that is good or bad in the parable, not the seed. Lastly, there's nothing about "word curses".

Verses 11 is the parable explained

Jesus says if the seeds (word ) take root, it will grow.

It works both ways the devil also sows seeds (weeds) (Slander, lies, hate, posion)

It is very important to know the difference between 'gossip' and 'slander'. Nearly everyone uses the word 'gossip' in place of 'slander' . Slander comes much more easy than gossip and the first time the person commits this sin they are not even aware until someone brings it to their attention. A person (even their first time) is aware they are gossiping because they are revealing private information about someone even if what they heard wasn't true. Slander is the misrepresentation of someone. It is the method of presenting that person, to another, in the kind of negative light that you are able. For example: A person is very hard working, but you do not like him/her. That person stops momentarily to take a short phone call. You see this occur, so you go to someone else who does not know that person very well (or not at all) and tell them that you don't know how this person can get anything done since they're always on the phone. Thereby placing a false image of that hard worker in the mind of this person if they ever hear or see that worker. There is a reason the Koine Greek word diablos is translated into the English as slander. The more people in the specific workplace or community that use and reward those who practice this, the greater the non-miraculous demonic power in that area.

Amen to that brother, seeds of slander if they take root can effect how others veiw people, it's called manipulation.

There are sowers of these seeds all over, on the streets, workplace, television even in churches.

The leaders of nations also use seeds of manipulation.

There are good shepherds and bad shepherds in this world, we need to be careful which ones we are manipulated into following.
