  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

With as many as 20 million illegal aliens in the US, I beg to differ.
It's prejudice to depict them all as violent criminals as you did.
It's a lie and slander to call it racism when it is clear that these people we are discussing are from other COUNTRIES. Nobody said they were all violent, but they ARE all lawbreakers and some of them are violent. We have no obligation to house foreign criminals.

It was the picture that was racist and I'm willing to bet they were all from one country, not several. They were depicted as violent criminals whether you said they were or not because you showed them wearing gang tats.

So basically, cut off everything except the military/industrial complex, and put up crippling tariffs to pay for them.

I repeat my previous question: Dude, do you even budget?

Crippling? At our GNP, we should have more than enough for
a constitutional budget without income taxes or sales taxes
on everything we buy or sell. Not that the military couldn't
tighten its belt too.

But that is unconstitutional. Read Article 8 of the Constitution. It allows for the establishment of a standing navy but not a standing army. The Founding Fathers felt a standing army would be threat to democracy. Instead, they favored the establishment of state militias which could be called up in times of war for a period of up to two years.

That would be fine by me. Militia training should be mandatory,
kind of like ROTC today, except everywhere. Teach every kid about
guns and train them on safety, and we stomp out the fear that the
left has spread needlessly. There would also be no more crippling
the second amendment any more as the militias would need to be
armed with current military arms of all types.

You have to have money to budget.

The GNP shouldn't affect the budget if it were tied
to Constitutional spending only. The ONLY major bill we
should have as a nation is for national defense. They could
fund that with import/export tariffs.

You can kiss free trade, and therefore capitalism goodbye if you do that.

You realize that would eliminate the development of new military weaponry, since that generally requires multi-year contracts and Article 8 does not allow for military budgets to extend past two years? Or are you imagining that states will be willing to pay for f-35s? They can cost up to 337 million a piece which means the state of Mississippi would have to spend more than its total education budget just to buy three of them.

And that's what America needs at the moment... more militias armed with current military arms of all types.

Mind you, the Constitution talks about state militias not private militias. There is nothing in the Constitution about those. State Militias were supposed to have officers appointed by the state but in time of war they are under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief. You know, this guy:

The ignorance surrounding how the US government works and the erroneous belief that our current president has issued more executive orders than any other POTUS does not speak well to the factual information level of this sample of Christians. No wonder they are seen as crackpots, stupid or worthy of derision by much of the population.

No problem. Most military spending and defense contractors
are money sinks.

I would also go back to no corporations in the US. Bust the
monopolies, especially government controlled ones like the
FDA and IRS. Sell off all government land they shouldn't have.
Just make sure it cannot be bought by foreign interests.

FDA and the IRS are not monopolies. Do you really want competing tax collectors and regulators?

Sell off all government land they shouldn't have.

And who decides what land they shouldn't have? The ranchers, miners and loggers who want to ruin it?

Just make sure it cannot be bought by foreign interests.

Hey, free market capitalism is free market capitalism. Like it or leave it.

I did not qoute this with my question

Is the idea of gay marriage propaganda?
Or is it the law of the land.?
If it is law how did this take place?

There is no law requiring anyone to enter into a gay marriage. the thing i find interesting is that if we refused to let the government regulate marriage this would be a complete non-issue.

It will be wherever we insist it is. Free markets means no tariffs and free competition. That's means foreigners get to buy our land if they are the highest bidder.

That would have been an alternative, for the government to get out of the marriage business entirely and have everyone file their taxes individually.

If tax breaks are more important than ideals then I guess I understand the problem. Taxes are theft anyway, so geting rid of them would be even better.

I understand the Mythical story of the free market, I was wondering where it was practiced.

Well that's a good idea. Have you met people? Now imagine them armed with military grade weapons and training?
