I would probably offer to go nude as well as long as no one else minded, mainly to be a gentleman and make everyone comfortable.

Concerning life drawing models. I went to a museum with my church friend. Would it be ok to discuss with her about what does Christianity think about art and figure models etc?

Some people here have done some modeling or have drawn from a model at Christian art schools.

I think she might be ok with that topic, but do you think it could change our friendship? I want our friendship to last a long time.

As for taking a Christian friend to an art museum and talking about nudity in art and the church .... I'd say go for talking about it, if she shows she is uncomfortable with that topic then move right on to the next one. I'm think if you as normal with the topic she will follow. If she reads you are weird around the topic then that's what I think would change her mind about you.

This may be strange to most people, but I would almost always rather be completely nude, especially in nature. I'm 27 and I've been somewhat of a closet nudist for the last 10 years of my life. Theres nothing sexual about it for me, it just makes me feel happy and free. I'm never naked in front of anyone who is offended by it. It's usually just my wife and close friends who aren't bothered by nudity.

My question is, do you think there's something wrong with me? Is this sinful behavior, or do you find nothing wrong with it? Thanks.

Apparently you have doubts about the morality of social nudity if you have to ask. Where in God's word does it say that nudity (even social nudity is sinful or immoral as long as there are no sinful thoughts, behavior, lust, or desires involved? Nudity can be sinful or non-sinful--depending on one's thoughts, attitude, actions, and behavior. Does it cause sexual arousal, desires or lust? If so, then it's sinful. Of course, such desires can be experienced while fully dressed; so the lack of clothes doesn't really mean all that much. Personally, I see nothing wrong with nudity as long as there is a complete lack of sinful desires and lust; that is not always possible--depending on the individual. The human body and mind can (and do) learn when nudity is meant to be sexual and when it's not. So, yes, it is possible to be socially nude with other people (even the opposite gender) without sinning.

As people do all the time with God's word, you're reading your own interpretation into what I wrote. I was not talking about married couples. I was talking about other situations than married couples. There is nothing sinful about married couples being nude together and enjoying one anothers bodies. While I have enjoyed seeing a woman's body nude, I have never lusted after her or wanted to have sex with her. Of course, now I have no sexual desires and couldn't have sex if I wanted it.

I know you were talking about other situations.As for reading the bible in your own interpretation applies to many.As I have mentioned before in Genesis Adam was asked " who told you that you were naked ? "Many readers have jumped to the conclusion that you must be clothed at all times.I know that I can be naked and pray to GOD,I can cook naked,I can watch television naked,I can actually shower naked ( I was surprised that some religions require one to be clothed when showering ) once again " who told you that you were naked ? "
I am glad to read other people have found that not wearing clothes they are healthier.Letting the air get to their bodies especially near their genitals a very moist place for bacteria and fungus to grow.

God asking "Who told thee that thou wast naked?" wasn't Him condemning nudity. God's concern wasn't for their nudity since He created them and left them that way. His next question was about them eating of the forbidden fruit since they possessed knowledge they shouldn't have had. Clothing them with skins served a two-fold purpose (1) Making the first blood sacrifice for sin as a forerunner of Christ's future sacrifice for sin, and (2) To cover them to protect their bodies from hazards to their bodies since God was casting hem out of a perfect environment into a harsh, cruel world He had just cursed with thorns and other hazards to their bodies that He just created. He did NOT cover their bodies because they had suddenly become offensive to Him.

Yes, I find this topic to be an interesting challenge to some of the norms that are taken for granted in mainstream Christianity.

I see us talking about it being acceptable to be nude as part of a long term trend that is showing that a lot of things that were called sin back in say 1950 weren't really sin. As with so many things, if ones attitude was wrong and if one couldn't do things in faith then they were sin. So many have learned that they can love God while they are naked or some other activity just like they could love God if they didn't do some activity.

I think this gets us much closer to no being hypocrites or not judging those things we have no responsibility over.
