  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here's my problem, I believe in evolution, and it brings up doubts especially in the OT...

Why do you still fail to realize DNA is shared because of a COMMON DESIGNER.

Why do you still fail to realize that a common designer would not produce a nested hierarchy?

Even more, separately created ape and human kinds would not produce a phylogeny with humans nested within the ape kind. According to baraminology, the three ape species evolved from a common ancestor. Humans were supposed to have evolved from a separately created common ancestor. Over time, each human and ape lineage should only grow more dissimilar, and each ape lineage should be equidistant from the human lineage. If what you claim is true, then we should not see one ape species having more DNA in common with humans than another ape species. The fact that we do falsifies the common designer claim. You claims are proven false by the evidence.

With all due respect ...what I present pre-dates the religions of evolutionism by millenia.

What I am presenting is scientific evidence that you continue to ignore. What you need to explain to us is why you have to ignore facts in order to hold on to your interpretation of the Bible.

With all due respect -- it doesn't matter.

Then that would mean some child raised in a good, normal, loving, caring environment wouldn't be sociopaths and mass murderers, I find that the people who had it worse turn out better in the end than someone who didn't
Actually, most murderers do grow up in bad homes. People who were abused as children are far more likely to grow up to abuse their children than those that don't. Some people just beat the odds.

Their always seems to be exceptions to the rule, the minority, but it does happen... Do you find that people who were abused, but overcome the effects from that abuse later on in life, are "stronger" quicker mind and memory, and have an advantage over the person who didn't experience any abuse?

I suppose it's really not required...God could have done whatever he wanted..

So, basically, even if all life was completely different, you could still say it was evidence of a common designer.

If that's the case, all life being similar isn't evidence of a common designer. If anything counts as evidence, nothing does.

..but it's like a Picaso painting.

I
Why would life be like a Picasso painting?
They're different yet similar because of the common artist.

So if I presented you with any two paintings, you'd be able to tell if they were both made by Picasso? Any two? Because we could put that to the test.

Either you got the concept or you didn't.....sounds to me like you didn't.

Transparent evasion.

If God could build the creation any way he chose, common designer g isn't evidence of his creation.

To use your analogy, you can't just point at a painting and tell whether he made it or not. He had a wide variety of styles and themes over multiple periods, and there's nothing requiring him to make a painting in any such manner.

Not really. My mother is a successful person that grew up in a terrible household. However, she wasn't made stronger for it, but rather, was a strong enough person to begin with to push through. She has definite permanent emotional damage from her experiences, and I have no doubt that she could have been potentially more successful with a better upbringing.

My boyfriend does live right now in an abusive household. Nothing hurts me more than to see his crazy schizophrenic mother beat the crap out of him, and then even see the police take her side when they are called, just because my boyfriend is bigger than her. He is so trained for abuse, that he doesn't fight back as she beats the crap out of him. She has been the source of two concussions, while school bullies are the source of 3 more. Do you honestly think my boyfriend is a better person for having survived this, because I sure don't.

Abuse doesn't make people stronger; strong people succeed despite abuse, but there is no reason to think that they wouldn't have been even better if they had never been abused to begin with. Because if I had grown up as my boyfriend has, I would have killed myself. And if he had grown up in my environment, he would have had more opportunities for success and his potential would have been more encouraged to be used.

Instead of the cops, take him to an ER and have them call child protective services.

How does the artist cover up his mistakes?

Picasso paintings do not fall into a nested hierarchy. Life does. That is how we know that life shares a common ancestor and not a common designer. The nested hierarchy is the evidence.

I ignore nothing - you have NEVER observed one species becoming another species EVER. Nor even one infraspecific taxa in the species becoming another infraspecific taxa. EVER. You have only observed two infraspecific taxa within the species mating and creating a new infraspecific taxa within the species.

Wrong again. "Emergence of New Species"
