  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi All,

It has been a wet and windy day here today. Hubby and I took some stuff to the dump, then he went to the bank and while he was there I went to see my sister who was doing a Fair Trade cookery demonstration in the nearby shopping centre. Hubby then joined me and found more people to talk to and we spent more time there than we planned. After that he had to collect a prescription, then we went home for a very late lunch. I had some phone calls to make after that, then we had to go out again to do some shopping at the supermarket and finally home to make a late dinner, after putting away the shopping.

How was everyone else's day?

Gillian

which day was that ?

Yesterday we had a 'dry' day here, in Umbrella City
I 'made hay',
although the sun, was not seen
Out came my steps (step-ladder) and I installed an inflatable Father Christmas
and two snowmen upon the porch roof at the front door
Before I could finish, a strong wind blew up and brought a light rain
the more-forceful because of the wind that was gusting quite strongly @between 40-50 miles per hour
so I switched-off the electrics and hoped to complete the tying-down today
"No Chance" !!!
If anything, the wind has gotten stronger
and has been blowing, since before I got out of bed at 9.00 am
everywhere is wet from lashings of rain

Will I complete before Christmas (I wonder) much to do indoors to re: seasonal decorations
I won't be idle :)

:D

I will let you know what Bristol's weather is like, when I return later
I am about to drive down there to visit my younger sister (who is very ill)
It will be an approximate 360 miles round trip

Mary's daughter 'Joanna' will spend a few hours with her later
and I hope to get back around early evening
I am taking my camera

Wet with a slight breeze here this morning @ 2.06 am
I will leave about 3.30am to ensure a timely turnaround
The motorways should be fairly quiet 'this early' :)

Good morning! Brought son to dr. this morning for his regular monthly check-in. He
got a call from a guy he used to work with wanting him to work. His old boss has reserved
a rental car for him and has deposited money in son's account for per diem. Looks like
son will be leaving today. I don't know how much more his ole boss can do to prove
he wants him to work. Son also mentioned that it might be easier if he moves away.
He would still be close by, about 2 hours away. I am just very used to seeing son
every weekend for Mass.

I don't know if son will be home for Christmas. I am very happy for son, he has had
a horrible 10 years of ****!

I didn't expect things to happen quite so fast.
