I'll keep my eyes open for his books.I really like his style of writing. And I like all the plots too!![]()
That's the important thing, to enjoy what we're doing. I bet you weren't horrible!

That's uhhh..... Interesting....OMM: I am starting to think Alistir McGrath dislikes protestants or perhaps he's just wishy washy. One moment it sounds like he is condemning the reformation and the next like he's praising a particular person who was key in it. I think perhaps it is time to find an author who is at least consistent.

The book is actually on Historical Theology so it's possible that he is a historian. I need to look him up.Is the guy a historian? It's very typical approach for historians, to condemn some movement and at the same time praise some elements or personalities in it.
No, I love history a lot. I just think the inconsistency is weird. It's okay, you can think it's boring if you like.

It turns out that Alister McGrath is actually a professor of Historical Theology at Oxford University. He is also a theologian and has written several books.
It does seem to be an oddity or at least I thought so. It's nice when an author is consistent. No, I love history a lot. I just think the inconsistency is weird.
A historian should be consistent if nothing else, it's a shame he isn't. Obviously you were right.Ha, there it is! My diagnosis without seeing the patient is that his capability to make any kind of consistent statements has likely been annihilated by The Evil Historian Mindset which tries to avoid making consistent statements.

Mmmh, historians are supposed to try to understand everyone involved, not really to have an opinion of their own. They try to tell all sides of the story at once, which of course makes them sound rather schizophrenic for a reader who is expecting a statement.
It'd be great if he'd just state the facts and leave it at that. If he did that, I think it would be a little less confusing.
Maybe he is just evil and likes to confuse readers?
Honestly, I haven't read the guy so I don't know anything about his writings. The description just sounded like a historian talking so I rushed in to the convo.
