I'm an open book; anyone just needs to ask!:)
something just occured to me, and since you're here and so willing to answer...

Have the Lutherans been told about the Jubilee Year of Divine Mercy that is coming up?
it's such an opportunity to heal rifts and wrongs that I would hate to think that no one had yet told them.

No, I have not. Now that does not mean those in authority have not.:)

Not to me. I can't forget what went down.
a lot has gone down, i know.
but if we let it keep us down,
then we're the ones who lose in the end.

just think about it....the door is open, the coffee's on, and the ice cream cake isn't half bad...

What a great idea for a thread!

Let's see.. for my paid job I work research for a mortgage company. I do it all -- address changes, refunds, payment histories -- basically anything that can't be taken care of by one call to our call center -- I handle it :)

Now that that's over :) My real love is being a firefighter. I am a volunteer firefighter / EMS officer with the local volunteer fire department here in town. I have been a firefighter for almost 15 years (started in 2002). I never thought growing up that I would be a firefighter, but now I can't think of my life without it. Being able to help someone on their worst day is very humbling to me. (In fact, if you could all pray for my last two calls -- they were pretty rough tonight, I'm sure they would appreciate your prayers).

I have a Bachelors in Psychology, a Masters in Forensic Psychology -- and I'm currently in seminary for my M.Div.

I have two kids -- a daughter who is 6, and a son who is 5. My daughter is in 4 different dance classes and my son is in one.

Let's just say my life is pretty busy -- add my duties here at CF, and I'm always moving :)

If you have any questions, or need anything -- feel free to send me a PM! :)

You sir are awesome, firefighters are unsung heroes who I think deserve a lot more thanks and complete funding from the community and should never have to stand on the street and ask for donations. You also sound extremely accomplished in both education and personal life. May God Bless you and your family in all ways, and may all the people you've helped remember you in Heaven.

Also thanks to the other staff, may The Lord bless you as well

Fun thread! Like Jesus' Follower, I also am a non-denominational minister with an engineering background.

Did my bachelors degree at Ga Tech and then God called me to seminary (Dallas Theological Seminary). Later I did a PhD in Reformation History and Theology (Westminster Seminary).

I have been a pastor for 35+ years in non-denominational churches in GA, FL, MO and LA.

I have been married 45 years and we have two grown children. My wife is a retired Nurse Practitioner.

I have been at CF since the dark ages and have served as a moderator up to Advisor. However, I have most enjoyed the Chaplain role here.

Paidiske is a wonderful addition to the CF staff. She is theologically knowledgeable and possessed of an openness that is so welcoming to spiritual seekers of all faiths. I learn not only from her informational posts but from her demeanor. Thanks for your volunteerism.

Paralegal by education, glorified secretary by employment.

I also work for the election commission, so I work the polls during elections.

Freelance dog-sitter. Only one regular customer, but she pays well.

Convert to Catholicism. Raised non Denominational.

Homebrewer. Just finished a batch of Belgian Ale.

Not much more to tell.
the staff mindset. So let's change that and try to form a relationship and get to know those on staff here in OBOB! :)
