I am a man. Look at Jesus. Don't look at me.
Well, Jesus doesn´t post here. You do.
And you are the living example of the result of what you recommend us to do.
It´s your sales argument.
This is why your conduct here is crucial for your success.
That is your problem. You are lurking and scoping and seeking a reason not to follow Him.
Ok, the preaching and mind-reading stage has been reached, again.

If you were concerned about your reputation for intellectual integrity and civil discussion, you would "not be in God's will"?

No. I would not. God's will for me is to be a light shining in a dark place. To testify of His goodness His grace and mercy. His will for me is not to try and foster some sort of reputation among you unbelieving and evil men.

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

I am not in sales. I used to be. But I am no longer.

I also shall ignore you from here on out. There are others that want to know what I know, to have what I have, and it is to them that I will be sent. I wish you well.

I wish you better luck with your new position than you had with the one you have chosen to take here.

I'd put them up for trolls of the year if that were true.

Honestly though, Chiliman could be a case study for "how the mind clings to belief". You could literally go through all of his posts in the philosophy section and watch as his tactics change over and over again in an attempt to rationalize his belief.

Indeed.

There are several posters, that could be used as examples for graduate level psyche classes in the study of psychological defense mechanisms.

I am Christian. I am telling you and the others to repent and believe. If I was concerned about my reputation among you all, I would not be in God's will.

And others are telling you what they think of your intellectual integrity and tactics.

Look at Him, don't look at me. If you look at me you can find fault, for I have many.
Is that the famed divine reasoning that we are told to rely on, instead of man's reasoning?

We should repent and confess, you say.

Why?

To be "more like him", you say.

But you do not seem to be "more like him"... you are a man, with many faults. Unreasonable, snarky, cold, contemptuous... that's how you appear.

Why? Did you not repent and confess, so that you could be more like Jesus?

Perhaps you should.

I looked at Jesus and I looked at him from an in depth standpoint by studying the NT by reading the work of NT scholars and historians that forget more about Jesus's historicity, then you will ever know.

When I did so, I concluded that Jesus was likely a real person who for the most part, was trying to help people, not judge them. Beyond that, my studies caused me to conclude, the basic Christian theology, was also not something I could reconcile any longer with reality and was simply not believable.

Since I have embarked on the study I mention above, watching folks like you attempt to educate others on how they are misguided and are being led astray and using insults and negative judgments about others who disagree with you as your strategy, tends to expose the realities of the situation.

I sin not only in deed and word but in thought. And you are right, each time I do, I am convicted by God and I repent and keep moving forward

When I am weak, He is strong.

That's wonderful. Keep seeking out the truth. If you desire Him with your whole heart you will find Him. Be encouraged.

Desiring something for psychological comfort is not how I roll. Well evidenced reality, is independent of a person's personal desires of what they want the truth to be.

If a person, really wants something to be true, to satisfy a psychological need, they will find a way to manufacture reasons to convince themselves it is true and these folks leave tell tale clues of how they go about convincing themselves and it usually includes a lot of; denial, confirmation bias and selective reasoning.
