  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Proof that Trump's an Idiot

Is Donald Trump an Idiot?

Two thirds of Republicans say Trump is qualified to be President. I still don't have an answer to my question "What makes him more qualified than Flavor Flav?" He has no political experience; how can he be qualified? Because he's rich and irreverent? Flavor Flav is rich and irreverent! Also musically talented, and he wears a clock.
There are very few Constitutional qualifications to be president. Trump is as qualified as Obama was.

He made an issue of it, and of course he was never proven wrong about it, either. But my point was broader than that. It's a standard thing among Democrats and Liberals to make race and nationality an issue, but they're hypocrites.
It was proven before The Donald ever jumped on the band wagon.

I was referring to the birther thing. Which Trump pushed for a long time, didn't he?
Obama's publicist said he was from Kenya.
When he was elected to the Illinois senate, he was described as "Kenyan born."
Obama's supporters flat out lied when they said that Hawaii didn't issue long form birth certificates, only COLB's.
The governor of Hawaii, an Obama supporter, searched for a birth certificate and finally conceded there was none.
These facts are indisputable.
Only Trump pushing the issue made the Obama administration release the long form birth certificate. That is also indisputable.
Anyone who could look at these facts and determine that there weren't serious questions being raised is living under the willing suspension of disbelief.

Subsequent to the long form birth certificate being released, at least one law enforcement agency has concluded that it is a fake. The investigation is still ongoing. Regardless of what is finally discovered, Obama said he was Kenyan when it suited him and said he was not when it suited him. The one thing we can draw from that is that he is without question a liar.

The OP proves that someone fails to see the facts, but it isn't Trump. The only one he got wrong was on taxes and he should have said that our government wastes more tax dollars than any other country.
The fact is, America has the highest CORPORATE taxes in the world; not the highest PERSONAL taxes.

No, that is not a fact.
The United States has the third highest general top marginal corporate income tax rate in the world at 39.1 percent, exceeded only by Chad and the United Arab Emirates.

Cool. Now just show how "In the industrialized world" = "the World" and you can dispute the findings of the conservative web site I quoted. Then we bring up the fact that a large number of American corporations pay no taxes through clever deductions.

Why did GE get away paying no taxes a few years instead of 39.1%

How can this be?

I say drop that corporate tax....and offer no deductions.

One of the conservative ideals I highly agree with is modifying our tax structure to simplify our tax code. It is too complex and weighted much to heavily in favor of the rich and corporations.

For all the sparring and exchanging of digs that goes on, liberals/socialists attack the opponent's intelligence, while conservatives attack the opponent's competence or policies.
Intelligence matters too. I know it's mean to insult Trump (or it would be if he read CF, which he probably doesn't), but it's important to evaluate the intelligence of Presidential candidates because if we elect stupid people, they're likely to do stupid things--even if their stated policies make sense.

As for your idea that conservatives only focus on policy... Yeah, except the 55% of Republicans who say they wouldn't vote for a Muslim or an atheist and 40% who wouldn't vote for a homosexual.

By the way, do you realize that Trump is practically the all-time champion of insulting people?

Why should corporations pay taxes? The profits go to shareholders. Tax the shareholders.

You didn't evaluate, you lied about him. Trump is brilliant. All you did was make yourself look small by insulting the intelligence of a man more intelligent than yourself.

No, that would be Don Rickles.

Well, you didn't do that! This was my point.

Don't assume that it's pure bias that accounts for that...and, don't fail to note that Democrats are much less likely to vote for an evangelical Christian and somewhat less likely to vote for a Mormon than are Republicans.

By the way, do you realize that Trump is practically the all-time champion of insulting people?
Continuing to throw around gratuitous, unverifiable insults like that doesn't help us here, especially after that rocky start when you called Trump an idiot but had no actual reason for it.

You can't just compare base rates of corporate tax. You need to also take into account the widely varying exemptions, concessions and reductions which are available in each different country.
