And the other one is Obama. I think he's a Muslim and I've been unfriended for saying so. There's videos of him bashing Christianity and bible while praising Allah and the Koran. He's also poking the big racial stick at America. If you don't like him? You're racist. Are you proud to be white and straight? You're racist and homophobic. You want to fly a confederate flag because it's a symbol of your heritage? You're a racist.

You can tell the difference in his reactions when a white person kills a black person, when a Muslim kills Americans, and when a black person kills a white person. All different reactions.

I have a lot of strong opinions. Some are just my opinion and definitely not worth arguing for or causing controversy. The only thing that I truly believe that I would be willing to defend is my belief that the majority of the beliefs and views espoused by modern Christianity produce spineless Christians. There is such little emphasis on love for God and the desire to follow him regardless of the consequences. Denying yourself and picking up your cross is an almost obsolete concept. Add to that an almost contempt or scorn for Church history and you end up with what we have now. It is all about what God does for us. Very rarely do I hear any emphasis on how we treat or offend God or the need for a person to fully surrender their entire life to Christ.

These people do that because then they can trick gullible people into giving them money, quick way to get rich. ie. Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn,Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes and many many more.

controversial opinions?

hmm, I have gotten in several debates with friends over my view that Transexualism is a mental disorder and should probably be treated with therapy rather then "sex change" operations, I put that term in quotes because it does not really change your sex, it just mutilates your genitals and then you pump yourself full of hormones

I do not think that the Freemasons are in some huge global conspiracy or anything, but I DO think that the foundations of that group lay in the anti-Christian Enlightenment of the 1700's, with a near deification of human logic, and wide spread religious indifference

lol should I keep going?

That branch of Christianity is by far the worst. I think it extends though to other groups. Perhaps not the emphasis on donating money, but the lack of emphasis on having a real conversion experience and loving God preeminently.

oh I do not plan to debate anything I say on here
I will say what I believe, and I will try to give good reasons for why I say it, if a person wants to ask an honest question, I will be respectful and answer them
but if they are just going to try and trip me up, I will ignore the question

Very rarely do I hear any emphasis on how we treat or offend God
a quote from one of my favorite Popes
Pope Leo XIII, 1900
“The world has heard enough of the so-called ‘rights of man.’ Let it hear something of the rights of God.”

Well many preach God in the context of a Genie whose sole purpose is just how happy he can make you or how much blessed materially you will be. Shallow materialism and also over emphasis on emotionalism.

I can't stand Popery. Thank God for the Protestant Reformation and for Courageous Men like Martin Luther and John Calvin. I'm still very angry from the abuse I received from the Roman Catholic church.

Emotion is good and necessary when it concerns a person's reflections on their own sinfulness and how they have treated God. I don't think you can be truly converted without that element of remorse and sorrow. Emotionalism as you describe is harmful and just leads to the adoption of foolish doctrines and strange behavior.

As much as I am a personal fan of Martin Luther and am a protestant, I would contend that there is just as much bad theology and lack of true experiences within most evangelical circles as there is in Roman Catholicism. I agree with protestant theology, but it always boils down to a person's heart.

Tell us more.
I hold to the VERY unpopular teaching of the Catholic Church that contraceptives are inherently immoral
this view is not popular among Christians in general
it is not even popular among Catholics

Sex is not JUST for procreation
but to purposefully remove the procreative elements through unnatural means changes the very nature of the act
it has hurt society, can anyone say that we would have this "hook up culture" without the widespread acceptance of contraception?

here is a link you may find interesting
it describes that shallow brand of theology as "moralistic therapeutic deism"
moralistic, because they say the sole purpose of religion is to "make us nice people
therapeutic, because it is self centered on making the individual happy
and deism because the focus is not really on a God we are called to know and love, but God is reduced to just kind of a vague cosmic force

oh Israel!

lol in the list of controversial opinions how could I leave out Israel???

Israel is apartheid state that is setting up illegal "settlements" or what should more rightly be called colonies in the West Bank region of Palestine
the human rights abuses against Arabs is blood chilling
Israel has committed war crimes against Palestine and keep the Gaza Strip as a Ghetto (and yes I know the origin of that word, the irony of the situation would be funny if it had not caused so many people to be stuck in poverty without access to the basic goods a services a human needs)
and the fact that so many American Christians support Israel even when they act against Arab Christians just drives me crazy

Israel is a Liberal Democracy, they are a US ally in a turbulent region
so I understand why we give them some support

but the modern secular democracy of Israel has nothing to do with theology or Bible Prophecy

But no mention of anger towards the way the Palestinians treat Israel? Bombing them at every turn? From my point of view, Israel has tried to make peace with them, but they keep attacking, then the world gets on Israel for retaliating. If that was Mexico shooting rockets and taking pot shots and detonating bombs on buses and in malls, we'd invade! Many Arab nations, including the Palestinians, wish for Israel to be wiped off the map. They hate Israel with a passion.

Yet Jesus said they would return. The land belongs to the Jews. There was NEVER a true Palestine or a nation recognized as Palestine. So why the Jews have to give up their own land boggles my mind. It doesn't belong to anyone but the Jews. All the prophecy points towards this happening. Israel will be surrounded on all sides by enemies. The anti-Christ will make a peace treaty and break it. The Jews have always been the enemy of the world because they are God's chosen people.

Hmm well i once posted on a christian forum that i chucked a copy of 50 shades of grey that want mine in the incinerator and many if them jumped on me and said i was stealing.

I was just cleaning up this ladies house.

Oh..also that i didnt believe in the rapture and it wasnt in the Bible.the resurection is, but theres actually no rapture like how they preach it. So they end up calling me names and trying to convince me there is.

Oh, also, Game of thrones is prolly not a christian book. But I think some people want it to be.

And I dont really see the appeal of dungeons and dragons or WOW.

Everyone shoot me now.

Oh also..catholics dont really read the bible. I know heaps of ex catholics. They all tell me that their church kinda left out a few things or had these weird extra biblical traditions.

And...prosperity gospel believers get mad when I post scriptures about how the rich are meant to give to the poor. They got it the wrong way round, they believe the poor are meant to give to the rich, and the reason they poor or sick is they dont have enough faith.

Im like. Okaaaay.

That is all.
I dont really have an opinion on the current state of Israel. Ive never been there, so not sure what its like, and also, i dont know anyone who lives there.
Im sure Jesus will sort it all out when he returns. Best not to get involved in that, just pray.

Very much so in the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
