I read a devotion about how God can use the pains in your life. Can anyone share how God has used the pains in your life to help others?

I was asking this because I am considering involvement with my church and they have a program of helping people with addictions. I used to be into porn, the female kind. I was thinking of getting involved this way b/c nothing else in the church seems to interest me, ie video room, greeter, bookstore, coffee shop. I am somewhat of a deep thinker. thanks for sharing, Brinny, that is awesome!!

I use positive affirmations on a daily basis as mental exercise to train my mind to think positive
What many today do not get is... being corrected by the Lord IS a wonderful thing, but yet many reject God's correction which is rejecting the leading of the Holy Spirit thinking they are already perfect violating the truth of 1 John 1:8
Numerous foundational errors in the exaggerated grace message. These are the ear ticklers the Lord warned us about:
2 Timothy 4:3,4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
The Lord warned us that OSAS was not true in Revelation 3:5 and in Matthew 7:21-23 among others.
All God wants is for His people to walk in agreement with Him with sincerity nut many today call that "works" and "being under the law"
Galatians 5:18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Apparently, walking in the flesh is being under the law of sin and death. exaggerated grace people don't like certain passages in God's Word so they like to claim some things were not written to Christians or come up with some other excuse as to why certain passages are not applicable for us today.
Numerous errors in your biblical references are apparent.

The whole counsel of God's Word is being taught by these grace teachers
No, actually it's not... but I understand if I name names you guys will get mad and won't want to play anymore since these TV preachers are idolized by so many. That's the problem is people start following people instead of the Lord. I know of 3 big time TV preachers that are now saying that homosexuality is an "ongoing discussion" which means they are riding the fense on this subject instead of standing on the Truth of God's Word... so they are now leading people astray on something God says was an obamanation not knowing God's warning in Romans 1:32.9
How do you explain away this verse which is part of taking communion? There's sure a lot of Christians dying from stuff these days...
1 Corinthians 11:3-32 "For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world."
.But, anywho... you may be sincere about walking with the Lord but many out there hear some of this stuff and continue living in sin and that is the fault of the extreme grace teachers who refuse to tell the rest of the story according to the New Testament to let folks know the Bible warns us if we walk after the flesh we shall die (Romans 8) among others
But, I understand, it's all good and as long as we are "happy" then all is well... don't worry, be happy![]()
