  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Hmmm, thats odd. I didn't know there was a school for martial arts there.

Someone approached me today asking if I was into MMA. I thought it was an odd and random question to just walk up out of the blue and ask someone. I wonder if someone was trying to recruit me to be a fighter. :mmh:

If that were the case...... I wish I had known I was being recruited and not asked if I liked watching that garbage on TV.

My answer would have changed from "No" to "How much?" Pay me enough and Id do it.^_^ (I dont believe it wrong for a Christian to partake in such things, as long as it is kept at sport rather than just hitting in anger.)

Speaking of personal library - have you been able to organize it yet? :)
Not yet-- the room is still under construction. The floating floor needs to be installed, the shelves built, and all wooden surfaces stained and finished.

The hardest thing is proving to be finding a colour of stain light enough to match this....

Central Texas, I can't say that it was ideal as Cali. but compared to the disguised swamp lands of Houston the times I have been out there have always been pleasant ones. I wouldnt say I get cold in Central, but I feel comfortable both during the day and at night.

Cali however has AMAZING temps. There are actually some places that DON'T have AC and if its SoCal, you don't even really need a heater during the day (Everytime I have been there at least)

Every trip I was there during winter, I walked around in jeans and a T. The only time I got cold was when the wind would blow off the snow and over my shaven head.

Central Texas is nice. I couldn't stand California weather, it's almost always the same temperature. We had two straight weeks last October of lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s in Abilene and drove me CRAZY. No rain or anything, just the same. At least in Texas' summer we'll have rainy or couldy days were it may fluctuate a little bit.

Yum.My auntie makes plain ones with fruit on top
I put whipped cream and one blackberry on top of each. It was pretty :)

Speaking of organizing personal libraries, my family needed to borrow my car this week and forced me to transfer my books from my car to my bedroom. I've always joked that I should "embrace reality" and put a bookshelf in the back of my car. Well... Now I need to figure out what to do with those books. There isn't quite enough room in my bedroom bookcase. I could put them back in my car? Idk...

Tonight I was happily pleased with the AA pro baseball team we went and watched tonight. I had almost forgotten just how much I love baseball.

My home team of the NW Arkansas Naturals lost both games to the Frisco Roughriders (a town just north of Dallas) but my how I love the game.

I am going to return often.

I've been told that the longer you leave stain on the darker it gets. So maybe get some light stain and leave it on a really short time. But I don't really understand it all too much as I've only helped stain and not done it all on my own.
I think almost any shade would go well with that. But lighter colors make rooms look bigger and more open.

I dislike stupid people. Especially when they identify with something I also identify with.

Story of my life... It seems like there's always someone (with an opposing stance) who thinks that I will be as stupid as the last person they talked with who has my position.

I sometimes wish I could tell people I agree with to never defend their ideas, and just let me do it for them, lol. That way we wouldn't have this problem... Or, it would at least be my own fault, lol.

My best friend came back from her 5 day trip and so I couldn't hear from here.
Weird time since she is very important to me and is like a close sister so we usually know a lot about what's happening day to day....
I've had many thoughts about it and our friendship dynamics since my weakness is overthinking.
But after getting a burned out brain and from praying.. It does help me see that I want to be a really good friend to her, and my interest in her takes 2nd place behind friendship since I want a nice sister before anything else to ensure I can be a friend for several years.
I think it was a blessing from God since it correlated right with my week trip since it happened a day after..
Also, a few months back another trip of her's correlated. It's like God knew we needed some time alone so he gave it to us right when it was needed. I don't like it nor does she, but it helps make things healthier I think.

Why does my boss think I should wear blue mascara, red lipstick, and dangly red earrings? I should do it once to show how crazy that would look.
Blue mascara? Lol the last time I had that was in the eighties with a bunch of blue and pink eyeshadow and pink lipstick and those huge earrings, but then it was hip.

The best "why" I can think of is that your boss is a guy and doesn't understand makeup, lol.

Because most guys really don't.

And I for one am PROUD of it. :p

I have no shame in admitting I know nothing about make up.... short of it being a bunch of powders and goop that women will spend a fortune on.

But hey, Im not judging, you wanna spend 300 bucks on a jar of goop...... I spend 300 on a muffler, sway bar, pair of high quality shocks.... etc. None of us really make sense. :p

Hey, Im not denying there is an art to it...... there is a difference between subtle and clown but I imagine the line between application is very thin.

I just dont care to learn it cause I have no plans on ever using it. :p

I've never done makeup for daily wear, but I've done it for haunted house and such. If normal makeup is anything like costume makeup, there's a very big difference between subtle and clown. One thing that I've always heard women say is that it's less about how much you use, but more about how it's applied (do colors work with your natural complexion and each other, etc.)
