I found this quote saying: Author Tim Challies refers to masturbation as selfish sex. Sex is meant to be an act of service to your spouse, with both of you receiving pleasure. However, according to Challies, when we participate in masturbation we make a mockery of the beautiful act that God created for our enjoyment.
The hole in Author Tim Challies's argument is that people are designed to have sexual urges even while single. Nocturnal Emissions would be a mockery too, wouldn't they?
I am still struggling with this, but think of it like this. When you touch you are pleasuring yourself and taking away something special for your future spouse.
What happens if partner dies and and the survivor marries someone else? During all of those years of the first marriage was the person "taking away something special" from the new spouse? I don't follow that.
When you do meet someone you will have had so much pleasure from yourself not knowing what to do with your partner.
What?! Is Tim Challies serious about that? That does not make any sense at all! I have never read his material but he sounds like a quack for making up that stuff.

Actually, good sex is kinda addictive....the better it is, the more you want.
So, no...I don't think learning how to pleasure yourself is taking away from your spouse.

Ridiculous. Sex with your partner is not a problem just because you have, in the past, masturbated. You say it is? No data on which to find that out . . . how do you find a set of non-masturbators to check this out? You can't go by their simple declaration. They might be lying.

More simple assignment of m as sin without any reasons. When it comes down to it, all those who say it is sin simply say that because they take it for granted to be a sin. But I've got another problem for those who claim it is a sin.

On judgement day, some will face God and have to admit they taught the wrong side of the masturbation debate. God will patiently explain to them what was wrong with doing that.

IF I AM RIGHT and God will rebuke those who taught masturbation to be a sin. . . the wrong done by that teaching will be widespread feelings of guilt when there was no guilt, leading people to think they are unable to pray to Him for salvation, etc.

IF I AM WRONG . . . I'm not sure what the harm will have been. Please fill in this blank for me.

If you merely say it was because it caused people to do something God didn't want done, I will reject that as an answer because He didn't mention it in His bible. Instead, point out the actual harm it does to people.

No they don't take away something special, they just ask God to purify themselves as if it was the first time.

Because I speak English.

In English, the word "lust" is not necessarily associated with sex.
You could say that "He lusted after that shiny new car" or "she lusted after that gorgeous outfit", and it would be proper English.

The language you are speaking is your own version of English.
It is the common street version.

What if they don't bother to use those words, and just get remarried? People say the strangest things around here.

touching yourself, especially compulsive touching yourself, can develop HABITS of stimulation that become hard to break, and can sometimes later interfear with regular sex with one's spouse, causing difficulty in [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] from intercourse alone.

You know what gets me about all this, is how anything that has to do with sex is such a huge sin...
But did you realize that Paul the Apostle, the man everyone looks up to, was a murderer? Oh, yes...he was on his way to Damascus to find even more Christians to drag away in chains and slaughter, when Jesus knocked him off his high horse and had a few words with him...
Now, he is treated with Godly respect, as is right...
But the woman who wept at His feet and wiped them with her hair...she is still a "prostitute".

Compulsive masturbation?
Has anyone ever forced you to touch?

I don't see this being what God is about at all. God loves for us to celebrate all that he has done for us. This is what praise is all about.
If God just wanted sex to be about reproduction then he didn't have to make sex so pleasurable. After all most of us would only have sex a few times in our life time and we wouldn't really need it to be pleasureable at all.

Food tastes so good, the sun on our face is very pelasurable, along with music, dancing, fellowship and so many more things. I say God loves us a whole when me do things he created for us to enjoy.

I agree with this.
Did you know humans are among a VERY few animals who has sex year round and for more than just procreation?
I have a farm. My goats, horses, and cows have sex once per year. They get pregnant and the nookie is over. And they live together year round. The ducks and chickens are their own beasts... they are pretty much always having sex, but with them, it's NEVER consentual... the drakes jump the hens in a huge gang-rape, and the roosters LITERALLY chase their hens all across the yard until he catches her and jumps on her back. The thing about the birds is that the boys only fertilize about 10 eggs at a time, so that's why they have sex year round- gotta keep fertilizing those eggs!

Most animals have a 'season' for procreation (spring in most cases- they're all twitterpated).
Humans, however.. we can and do get pregnant year round. And when we're not getting pregnant, we're having sex for the pleasure of the act. (I speak from the standpoint of a married woman.)
And if we're having sex for pleasure, that means the act feels good. And when our partner can't be with us, we still want to feel good.
SO I say, since there is no real biblical law against it, as long as your partner is down with it, you're not looking at porn (unless it's your partner sending you naughty pictures of themselves... then go for it!), and you're thinking about your partner and not lusting after someone else, or just thinking about the pleasure, then why not?

And if you're not married, as long as you're not looking at porn or lusting over another person- if it's JUST about feeling the good feelings -then why not?

Hun, that isn't the kind of thing we're talking about.
That sounds more like sexual abuse.

Not to answer for her, or put words in her mouth, but I think she means that maybe there was a partner who was a compulsive masturbator, who was always taking care of himself, to the point that he couldn't [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] when having sex with her....
juts my understanding of what she said.

Are you nuts? You have read all sorts of stuff into my post that wasn't there. What I meant is that my husband's problems with compulsive masturbation led to problems with [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. It took a lot of sex therapy to correct the problem and he had to stop for a long long time.

Sorry. When you said "compulsive", I thought you meant "forced".

Nocturnal emission was considerd to make a man unclean (Deut 23:10). One needs to read the context to try to determine why it was considered unclean. I think it was because the seed of a man was for one purpose only, ie sex with a wife. Many OT laws were symbolic of spiritual truths in the NT, especially the animal sacrifices.
