If you don't mind, I'll just address this one point in that I think it gets to the heart of the issue.
First, Loudmouth made a good point. It's not YECs in general, I should not have put it that way. It's creation scientists, or in other word, people who try to justify their creationist views with science, math, and/or logic.
That said, faith IMO, is not dependent upon truth. It stands alone. You don't need to prove it. To the point that trying to prove it is a sign of weakness. Thus, the the more fervently one tries to prove one's beliefs or establish the exclusivity of their truth, the greater the chance they faith is not up to the task of standing alone.
I hope that makes sense.
