Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to discern the truth and speak about Him. Therefore, all writings are to be held against the light of the Holy Spirit to interpret. Otherwise, it becomes personal interpretation of the words that can be added, deleted or mistranslated.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Correct. When I hold the Word of God against the Spirit, the Spirit agrees with it. I tried this with other so called books of scripture (like the Book of Enoch and the apocrypha) and found that there was no agreement

The Word of God that was written down is definitely the Holy Word of God. It is not the only Word of God since God can communicate with us various ways to make his will known. But it is the only written scripture from God. And again following the letter will kill you, but following the Spirit of the Word of God will give you life.

Inspired words were written down. We require the help of the Holy Spirit to discern the truth and for understanding. Yes, He can make His will known by various ways.

That need to be verified with other writings and finding out whether the person who wrote that bears the fruit of the Spirit.

I agree but I believe there is a better way to determine what is scripture. After all we might fully understand Jesus' teachings to use them as a judge for scripture.

But people can try to twist Jesus' words to fit there own. It happens all the time in church. What of the Spirit?
