I am a part of a group that does in depth study of the Scriptures. The group takes the doctrines of the church and traces them back through time to find their origin. Those that can be traced all the way back to the apostles are kept, those that cannot are rejected. However, all of the doctrines must be in agreement with the Scriptures, if they aren't they go.
Hi,
Can you stand alone on your own work, with proofs, and not be shown to be wrong, except rarely?
What I did, was my own research on my own, and it was presented when I had proofs.
You may be right, but so far, it is not clear. To trace statements back to the Apostles, sounds like it is much too narrow a look at The Bible and God. It may not be, but it sounds like it is replete with possible flaws.
The reason I bring up even this, is for you to say you are part of a group, might mean you are taking their work as factual, and you are not doing all of the work yourself to understand each an every point, nor trying to prove each and ever point fallacious on some valid ground or another.
It sounds like you and those people are just looking at a guess, a theory, which say this: "If something is in print, and The Apostles said it, then it must be perfect." Assuming you collect all of that data, and assuming you are correct in that all of that was said by The Apostles, you are still left with interpreting what they said, not only into your native language, but into your pesoanal use of that language.
Once done, all you have done, and all the group has done, must be presented to the world, and then if thy agree with you, honestly, then you have something, or you might have something that is true.
Is your work completed and sent to the world for review? Are you presenting to us that information? Are the people in your group proven, to be knowledgeable and skilled enough to do that work in the first place?
If that is all true, you and your group will be famous. If any of it is false and you do not find that error first, others will.
Here, others disagree with now your groups findings. Are you presenting your groups findings correctly? If so fine.
I have seen God. I am told it is provable. Yet, what I have seen disagrees with your groups findings. Othes have similar, but totally Biblical positions. There are others out there like me, who are mentioned at least in the Book of Acts. I wonder if thier personal one on one contacts with God, agree with your groups work, as mine does not.
