Hi there,
So let me see if I've got this right. There was a selection pressure that pushed fish to land creatures, and a selection pressure that pushed land creatures to mammals, and a selection pressure that pushed mammals to monkeys, and a selection pressure that pushed monkeys to humans... and if I don't watch out, the selection pressures that pushed monkeys to humans will be forgotten or confused with the selection pressure that pushes mammals to monkeys. Like I have to watch out, right? Like there's no real reason why the selection pressure that made mammals monkeys would refrain from turning humans into monkeys, if humans stopped responding to the pressure that made monkeys humans...
...that seems to be your logic.
Tell me where I'm wrong...
Thanks.
