There's a difference between inspiring something and writing it.

And there is a difference in insinuating that man (his thoughts) wrote the Bible rather than God. The more one studies the Bible the more one sees The Author throughout...all the chapters, all the verses, all the books and the years are all by One Author.

This is exactly what I said. Thank you for agreeing with me.

^_^ Hardly. You said:

"Actually, here on earth the correct side is determined by the law. Once in Heaven, then God's determination will apply."

I did not agree with your misunderstanding (as you serve Caesar) for I wrote:

"That is but one of your errors Queller. And it's a big one. God's judgment and punishment will apply when we stand before Him but the correct side was determined from the beginning. "

Caesar/the government was not in "the beginning." Who was?

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

It is written...have ye not read?

Indeed and I have studied the work of many NT scholars and historians as well.

The Holy Spirit doesn't teach us to read....He teaches us to understand what is written. When one verse explains another or gives deeper meaning then...it is written, have ye not read?

All fine and good, but man is still doing the interpretation at the end of the day and explains why so many who are supposedly in touch with the Holy Spirit disagree on the interpretations. No way around that.

In the words of Gomer Pyle (and yes, I too often use this) SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE.

The "work of many NT scholars and historians" is not the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

He feeds us as we are able to understand the meaning....beginning as the milk and increasing to meat as we mature and are "able to bear it."

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

To see and hear the spiritual meaning is the goal yet so many demand the literal only.

And it remains immoral to force someone to acknowledge a legitimacy of a relationship that they feel violates their religious belief

Why then, do people who claim to be guided by the Holy Spirit, interpret the bible differently.

Is your Holy Spirit better than theirs?

Well said. That is the point of this thread...the point that keeps being covered up.

Some can scream legalities but in doing so they must dismiss God. There is no need for anyone to "interpret" His Words on this point. They are clearly written and the right or wrong of this is understood even if no one ever read those Words. There are no excuses for works of wickedness. One must repent and not placate the evil in an attempt to sugarcoat/excuse it.

Romans 2:12-16 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to My gospel.

You can come up with your own personal interpretation of his word that suits you till the cows come home and you can put that interpretation in play in your church and in your private life all you want.

When it comes to dealing with people in the public, freedom of religion ends when it violates the rights of others.

You may not like this and think that your personal Christian beliefs should rein supreme for all, but that is not how our country operates and both conservative and liberal judges have upheld this.

There is only One and yet those in whom He dwells are many and are at various stages of understanding. We see and hear more and more as our "old man" passes away. We must get rid of him/ego/self/carnal nature in order to be spiritual. We must die in order to live.

He teaches us directly by guiding us in the Word of God...by opening eyes and ears/understanding as well as teaching us through others in whom He dwells. Our part is recognizing truth when we hear it or do we stroke our ego by retaining man's reasoning, explanations...even if they are renowned scholars?

The only rights being violated are those of the men being forced or fined to marry homosexual couples.

This Holy Spirit must teach differently then, because those who claim to be guided by it, have different interpretations.

The Constitution makes no such distinction

The constitution doesn't make distinctions in a lot of areas and this was done for a reason.

Judges do make distinctions though, because that is their job.
The point is that your right to the free exercise of religion extends to your business operations, per the Constitution
