It WAS fantastic Anhelyna. I couldn't see it very well but it was very very close to us and low too - going along the bank of the River Trent near to East Butterwick. I could tell it was a massive bird, and its wings were going so slowly yet powerfully and it was moving at around 30 - 35 miles per hour. Amazing. It would be either a male or a juvenile coming down most likely from Scotland on its way to Africa for the winter. Oh wow !!!! I wonder if it was Laddie? He is the one in my avatar - Lady's mate.

You never knw Anjelica. It must have been a wonderful experience for you. Especially as you have been following vLady's progress.

The River Trent eh?

I've sat on the banks of the Trent on more than one occasion, here...:

Largest bird I've seen in real life is a Falcon. Now there's a regal bird...

That's true enough - went to see a display of falconry one year we were in France - absolutely incredible

I like robins myself. Small, but very self sufficient little things...

Ospreys do have a route down past here on their way to Africa, or sometimes Spain as some of them go no further than Spain, but not many. Most go to Africa. It would indeed be wonderful if it were Laddie but we will never know now. It did not stop and kept on going along the bank of the River Trent on its way to Gainsborough and then down South. It was being mobbed by rooks.

That was some experience Anjelica - lucky you - in the right place at the right time

Bob said it was a good omen for me Anhelyna, as when Lady came back so unexpectedly as she is so old and was a miracle, just before I was told I was clear, she was an omen. He said that this may be a recurrence kind of, and another good omen. I pray so.
