God chose America to further His Gospel. We were blessed until we let human teachings of psychology and sciences overtake our attentions, truth from God became outdated starting in the 1920's.The Sexual revolution was a spirit sent by Satan. Through music, movies, pop culture and pride it became the norm for killing our babies, sex with no covenant, sex that mocks God's intention. God still blessed us, as we have blessed Israel. But since our abundance after WW2, we have sold the world everything under the sun, and they copy us. We think it is Godly to be capitalist. We are truly the only country that fits the prophetic Babylon in the bible and at this unique late day in the age of Grace."and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies."

As Israel continues to garner world attention, we realize it is God aligning nations and kings to His purposes. As America is in decline morally and financially, we also see the coming end of the age of grace. The nation that carries the gospel must decline for Israel to increase to it's position at the end.

Chapter 4: The Evidence For Jerusalem As The Harlot


The case for identifying Jerusalem as the intended referent for the harlot image in Revelation proceeds on several fronts. Some are related to internal evidence throughout the Apocalypse, others involve the background of the rest of Scripture and general thematic emphases of biblical prophecy. But when taken together, I am persuaded that these lines of argument point in one primary direction, as we will see in the following evaluation of the evidence.
Common Objections

The first step in examining the Jerusalem case, if we are to have a fair hearing of the evidence, is to consider the main objections that are offered by opponents to the this view. Of course, the most common is the contention that the Apocalypse was written after A.D. 70 and could therefore not be concerned with a prophecy of the fall of Jerusalem. This objection has been thoroughly analyzed in chapter three above, and the arguments related to such need not be repeated here. There are however a few others that warrant deliberation.

The City on Seven Hills

Advocates of the Rome view have regularly argued that strong, if not conclusive support for their interpretation can be found in Rev 17:9 which describes the “seven hills/mountains” (eJpta[SIZE=+1][/SIZE] o[rh) on which the woman sits. It is beyond dispute that Rome was very commonly called the “city on seven hills” because of its topography.21 A number of references to this in ancient literature could be cited, including, for example, Virgil,22 Horace,23 and Cicero.24 Understandably then, many commentators see this verse as a clear indicator that John is speaking of Rome and doing so in the common language of the day.25 Certainly, it cannot be denied that this is a very significant argument for the Rome view. However, this line of reasoning is not without its problems, and I believe there may be a more suitable understanding of this verse, one that seems to have been largely overlooked by most writers.

It could be added, as Beale observes, that every other occurrence of o[ra in Revelation refers to a mountain, not a “hill,” and this may caution us further against viewing 17:9 as a reference to the “hills” of Rome.27 Certainly, the term can go either way lexically, but within the context of this book, a departure from the “mountain” image evoked elsewhere would be unexpected, and should probably be avoided in our translation if possible. A more likely connection is the association of mountains with the symbolism of power and kings/kingdoms that is to be found in the Old Testament and other Jewish works.28 “Seven,” of course, is often symbolic of completion or perfection, and thus it may be that the seven mountains are best understood from a Jewish mindset as a symbol of completeness of authority, or fullness of royal power.29 Still, in harmony with this imagery there is background material to be considered here that may very well give us insight into which royal power we are dealing with.

Waters is not literal. It represents many different people who speak many different languages who are from many different nations (Rev 17:15). The woman sits on them, which is a euphemism for governing, ruling, or exercising dominion over them. It is akin to Daniel’s vision of the four beasts rising up out of the sea (Dan 7:3). What do the four beasts represent? What does the sea represent? If we understand the symbolic language to represent four great nations or empires (four beasts) rising up from among the people (sea), then the rest of what Daniel describes in this chapter makes sense. However, if we try to look for four literal beasts rising up out of the ocean, we will likely run into all kinds of interpretive errors.

Now if the term waters is symbolic, why would mountains be literal? Consider Isaiah 2.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.” (Is 2:2)

If we continue reading, Isaiah goes on to talk about how the law will go forth out of Zion. Who establishes the law but he who rules? Isaiah also goes on to say that He will judge among the nations and rebuke many. Who has the power to judge and rebuke but he who rules? In other words, governments and their leaders establish laws and enforce them. They rule and have the power to enforce their edicts upon their respective populations. Isaiah is painting a picture here of the righteous rule of God (His Mountain) over all nations (all other mountains) which is to come. Isaiah is speaking of the same thing John speaks of in Revelation 20 as the thousand years. It is the reign of Christ. It is He who will rule the nations with a rod of iron (Rev 12:5). In other words, His Mountain will be established on top of the other mountains. This same kind of symbolism is seen in the description of Mystery Babylon as she sits atop the back of the beast. Her head sits on top of the other heads, and the heads are mountains (Rev 17:9). In other words, her government is the chief government to which even other great governments or nations are subordinate. In the end, it will be the Head of Christ (Mountain of God) that will sit upon all the heads (mountains) of this world. His law will be the law in that day.

Actually I see the golden cup as the burning torch in the Statue of Liberty's hand, and I believe that John saw it that way also.

The Popes tend to stand and wave at the window and bless the crowds, or ride around in the Popemobile. The Antichrist is going to have an army and wage war.
Uh, I think that his robes and staff would get in the way, and all the Popes have been pretty old men. The Anti-Christ participates and is active, Naw, Rome and the Pope aren't it.

Personally, I believe Revelation 18 is about the fall of New York (which happens to add up to 666 under the Babylonian numeric system).

New York is the capital city for the U.N. If, just if, the U.N. is the rebuilt Babylon empire (which encompasses the world more than any organization - thus representing a rebuilt Babel), then New York would be its capital city. In the days of old, Babylon was a word to describe the 'empire' and the 'capital city'.

Granted, Revelation 18 could most likely represent New York, Rome, or Jerusalem, but could represent a host of others. But, currently, in my opinion, it most likely represents New York.

Now, couple this with the possibility that the four beasts of Daniel are similar to the "quartet" in the Israeli peace plan and that these four beasts (together) look like the first beast of Revelation, then we should look at them closely. Note the similarities between the "quartet" and the first beast of Revelation.

In Daniel 7 the four beasts are as follows:

1) Like a lion with wings of an eagle that were torn off and it was lifted from the ground to stand like a man. (similar to the U.S. becoming a nation from the lion of England.) Note: 1 head and 0 horns

2) Like a bear. Eat your fill of flesh. (similar to Russia that conquered) Note: 1 head and 0 horns

3) Like a leopard (with many spots) Had four wings and four heads and was GIVEN authority to rule (similar to the U.N. as the rebuilt Babylon of Nebech. which is diverse and worlwide and which has been GIVEN authority by the nations) Note: 4 heads and 0 horns

4) Terrifying and powerful with ten horns (could be similar to the E.U. in the near future which on 5/1/2004 will have ten more nations added to it). Note: 1 head and 10 horns.

Add these beasts together and you get a different beast (organization) which resembles a leopard with feet of a bear and mouth of a lion and seven heads and ten horns. IE, the first beast of Revelation.

I just think it strange that the most common thing that the U.S., Russia, the U.N., and the E.U. have in common is the peace plan in Israel via the quartet. And that these four also resemble, to me, the beasts of Daniel which when they come together appear to be the same as the beast of Revelation.

If any of this is true, then New York could be an important city, ripe for the wrath of God.

Also, in regards to Michael111's post, I do not think he said that the 9-11 trajedy was the fulfillment of Revelation 18.

Also, where does REVELATION say that the destruction of Babylon occurs at the END of a SEVEN year tribulation?? I see how it can be interpreted by piecing together parts from Daniel's prophecies, but I do not see it in Revelation.
