  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I didn't spell it that way, you did! LOL! It's actually not ironic at all, because you're sticking to talking points by Sarah Palin doesn't mean the American people are all ignorant pea-brains. So, not so ironic, but the clip was funny!

Because you went on and on about how I was brainwashed by Faux Nooz because I had a view different than yours.

Hey, Orthodox guys,
I don't think this discussion is helpful for our non-Orthodox brethren. You can ignore me, of course, but I think it would be wiser to remember that this is Lent, and we are in real danger of idle talk. I think this sort of discussion, especially at this time, more likely to drive people away from the Church than to draw them towards it.

In any event, I move that this thread be moved to St Justin's.

Thanks, Rus. You're right. My apologies. It's beyond idle. We had a barrage of folks come in here trying to light a fire and derail into junk talk. I went in hook, line, sinker. Thanks for reminding us....

So, if one disagrees with you, you are brainwashed by American media, but you like in a reality anti-distortion field where apparently you are unaffected by what Finns says you are.

New Legacy,

I don't know if you're Catholic, Protestant, whatever....but I have played into your game during Great Lent, and for that, I am the sinner, not you. Sometimes the evil one lays traps for us. This is perhaps an example of just that. I have focused on this inane argument full of banality and silly, petty bickering. I'm finished.

I wish you a happy Lent. God bless you. :):crosseo:

Those are some interesting choices of words.

The truth of the matter is that this topic has been controversial politically. You spent this topic accusing me of being brainwashed, saying I take talking points from Sarah Palin, etc, all because I hold a different view than you do.

Then someone comes along and lumps us all together as brainwashed and you take objection. I have not been banal, silly, bickering, or wanting to play any games.

Hey NL,
I didn't accuse you of any of those things and I thing Gurney would be willing to admit that he considers himself as guilty of those things as anybody.

As Christians, we're all supposed to learn to accept offense from others and not give it back. I think most of us will agree on this, and the Orthodox posters would agree that this is not a good conversation during Lent (if ever). Without pointing fingers. Which we're all supposed to practice pointing at ourselves and not others.

This topic has gone back and forth between people saying things they apparently regret with an implied 'it was someone else's fault' and then talking about how it is Lent. I have not posted anything I regret. I have been careful to stick with the facts. I have also kept up a sense of being light hearted or humorous because this is obviously a poignant topic.

Being a Christian is about turning the other cheek, but it is also about helping out brothers and sisters in the faith.

That's some lovely propaganda. Now, any credible news sources?

Answer in your style:

Now, any credible news sources which proves that my sources are not credible. Pls.

One more video about new "Goverment" of Ukraine which are not so suckers like previous:
Николаев 08.04.14 Ночная стрельба - YouTube
esp. check sounds of guns. This video about breaking camp of Antimaidan.

If protesters are from Maidan - so they can occupy anything, can shoot, can kill, can beat and etc. They are just realizing their rights on freedom.

But if protesters are from Anti-Maidan and do similar things like Maidans - so they are illegal, criminal and police, special forces, activists from Maidan with guns +some mercenaries from West (its Big secret) can do anything. ;)

Ps "Moscovits, dislike something - Bag, Railway station, Russia!!!"
Crimea did it already. South-West are trying now to get independence from crazy nazi- and not only clowns. But its not easy due unpresence of politness green people which can protect from force-solution.
For example, as i understood, nazi-junta has solved "question" with Harkov antimaidan for one night. Just ultimatum and then standart work of special forces and occupied goverment building was cleared. Why Yanukovich didnt same way in order to close maidan?

Hope Ukraine will escape scenario of War between special forces of Usa and Russia and any other bloody way.

Lord, have mercy! save Ukraine from civil war.

To use St. Lazarus' (Bethany) terminology, a bunch of pieces of earth fighting a bunch of pieces of earth over a patch of earth. We gotta hate and kill each other over something, it might as well be over the stuff we're made of. Yeah, sounds stupid to me too.

I sure hope they stop. The Crimea I understand, but there HAS to be a line where Ukrainians can live in their own land. SOMEBODY in these mixed situations is going to have to be relatively "foreign". The provocations in the eastern Ukraine look more like empire-grabbing to me than legitimate declarations of a majority population.

It would help by trying to imagine uprisings in California against the immigrant populations (or of Mexicans demanding that California be returned to Mexico). People of different languages are living together, and some have political ambition and attempt to convert dissatisfaction into action to achieve that ambition.
