CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In this world, the law is against the bible in many ways, and for Satanic lifestyles, so why should they? I suggest that man should fear God and heed His lessons of the past, such as in the twin cities.

No, pointless hate is a perversion. Sorry that god made people so imperfect that there are inconsistencies about which gender they are attracted to -_- but it's not like it is their fault. No one in their right mind would choose to be gay, so treating it like it is some sort of disgusting sexual obsession isn't fair. Did you consciously choose to be a heterosexual?
I don't care if you view it as right or wrong, but I will object to you treating people badly because of something they can't change.

If I actually thought the bible had any relationship with a deity I might care about what it says about how people should live, but I view it as the writings of ancient people who had a completely different culture from that of today. What is right and what is wrong varies by cultural context; the bible is outdated.

Treating something that isn't a disease as a disease is extremely harmful though. It can't be cured, no matter what you hear there has not been a treatment developed that consistently works, and many people become traumatized from attempts at "curing this disease".
Tolerance isn't liking something or agreeing with it, it is just avoiding making a big deal over something that ultimately has no impact on you personally. Which is to say, it only becomes a personal issue if you make it a personal issue.
I seriously couldn't care less though how you internally feel about it, so long as you keep it civil when interacting with other people.

It doesn't seem like modern homophobia was the same as the anti-gay sentiments that some claim are in the bible. Consentual homosexual relationships were not the norm back then, it was more of a political/temple thing.
