  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Which came first? plants or animals?

Dear AV, Here's the chronology:

Day 3 The first human, Adam, is formed from the dust of the ground. Gen 2:7 This was about the same time as the Big Bang of our cosmos.
Day 3 The LORD puts Adam into the garden to dress it and keep it. Gen 2:8 Our Cosmos was dark for the first Stars were not made until hundreds of millions of years after the Big Bang
Day 3 The LORD makes every Tree, plant, herb for the Garden. Gen 2:9 As of this time, there was NO Galaxie, Planet, nor Star in our Cosmos. The first stars put forth their Light on the 4th Day, Gen 1:16 which was some 13.7 Billion years ago, in man's time. Gen 1:21

On our Planet Earth, plants were first and Humans did not arrive until some 10k years ago. They arrived in an Ark. There is NO such thing as Magical Chemical Generation or Abiogenesis involved. Prehistoric man, was created on our Earth, from the water, on Day 5, Gen 1:21 and changed from animal to Human intelligence when they married Noah's descendants, and passed Adam's Human intelligence to all Humans today. Gen 10:8

Abiogenesis was dreamed up in Fantasy Land, by Evols who are "willingly ignorant" of God's Truth. ll Peter 3:3-7 God Bless you.

In Love,
Aman
Okay.

Thank you, Aman! :)

Thank you, sir; you are a gentleman and a scholar! :)

So it's not what he says, it's what he is...

Because what he said is nonsense. But since his nonsense matches up with your nonsense, he's a gentlemanly scholar. Yet you disagree with the 99.9% of other gentlemanly scholars.

So what was this common ancestor? half-plant and half-animal?

Believe it or not, beings capable of both photosynthesis and consuming living (or previously living) material exist. And I am not just talking about my carnivorous plants, there are some interesting microscopic organisms capable of it. They are capable of movement, will photosynthesize when light levels are good enough, and will switch to being predators when there isn't enough light. Nature sure is amazing, isn't it?

If you are interested in learning about carnivorous plants AV, I'll make a thread in the Physical an Life Sciences area.
Um, no.

But thanks, anyway.

I haven't set foot in a flower shop since I watched The Little Shop of Horrors.

Okay.

Thank you, Aman! :)

Dear AV, I didn't want you to thank me but to tell me what you really think. I get the idea that you had rather avoid debate with me for some reason. Am I correct, or is that just your normal position? Your comfortable position? God Bless you.

In Love,
Aman

Hahahaha they aren't like that. A Venus flytrap wouldn't want to eat you even if it could (the plants are tiny, the traps rarely exceed 2 inches in diameter even in the biggest varieties) and people don't have the kind of nutrient balance they like (if the fact they can't tolerate beef has anything to say, anyways). Even if you stuck your finger in a trap, and it closed, it still wouldn't be able to digest you, because the plants have a mechanism that rejects non food items or when stuff is too big for them to close all the way. In fact, no carnivorous plant is big enough to harm a person, even if they were willing to sit there with part of their bodies on or in a trap for the week or two it takes for them to digest stuff. Your fear of them amuses me. There are plenty of plants you should be wary of, but not carnivorous plants.

Aman, second to your salvation & health, I care about only one thing: and that is the fact that you are against both evolution and the philosophy that drives modern-day science.

As long as you're saved and against evolution, you're alright in my book.

I don't care if you're pre-trib, post trib, or mid-trib, YEC, OEC; use the NIV, NASB, or the TEV -- as long as you're against evolution, I have a deep respect for you.

Dear AV, Thanks. I appreciate your honesty. My wife used to say the same thing. God bless you.

In Love,

Evolution is not the root of all evil, nor does it challenge the existence of god. That you view it as such sounds like a personal issue.

Does it bother you that I won't hold Aman to my own personal standards?
