As a fellow fundamentalist(IFB) I sometimes wonder about this.
You will hear plenty of talk about different view of eschatology in fundamental churches.
You will hear plenty of talk about differing interpretations of church structure and practice.
You will hear plenty of talk about differing interpretations when it comes to salvation theology.
These are all very important topics, no one would argue differently. But recently my Pastor realized there was not enough emphasis on the doctrines of marriage and the family. How does a literal interpretation of scripture affect how we see our marriage, how we raise and discipline our children.
I would argue that second only to the doctrine of salvation and trinity, there is no more important doctrines for a Christian than the doctrines of marriage and the family.
Yet as my Pastor said in one sermon, Pastors are afraid to breach these subjects, for fear of offending people. They don't want to dive into marriage and family, because there might be too many disagreements.
What do you think?
