  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What about simply not believing the story? I don't have to hate something to not believe it is true, do I? In fact, it is a little difficult to hate something you don't believe exits.

I understand the approach you are taking. If that is the case? Then, why are you here?

I don't. Please explain if the statements are not synonymous.

If Hitler is a Christian because he has GOTT MIT UNS on his belt buckle, then am I an evolutionist if I wear DARWIN BEI UNS on mine?

Am I a Christian because I have IN GOD WE TRUST on my coins?

Is that really your answer?

Well... I said:

He placed himself in a position of vulnerability. One that you could be free to love, or hate. Same thing happened with the angels in a different way. They were made free to love the Lord, or to hate him.

Then you asked..

Free to love or hate?

Why such extremes?

With Christ you could not remain indifferent if you heard him.

I don't think it's about not believing in the story. I think from athiest evolutionists, you guys mock Creationism and the Intelligent Creator with no respect. You guys call it a fairytale and a bunch of lies and false stories.

It does go to hating something that you guys "don't believe", but in fact you do.

If I choose not to love you, Anya, does that make me deserve eternal punishment? Life imprisonment? Some kind of punishment at all? If not, why is not loving god different?

I think you can answer that yourself. I am not God, so it doesn't matter. But God is God and a very loving one indeed. If we actually just took a moment to think about what He has done for us, we would not hesitate to love the One that cares about us.

I find this post extremely ironic, and telling. You speak of personal responsibility, yet you do not even see that the entire basis of Christianity is the antithesis of personal responsibility. Do you get it?

Hint: Jesus.

Ok?

We can choose to accept His gift freely, yes.

But we are held accountable for our actions and choices made.

Living for Jesus means to put up our cross, meaning to die everyday and suffer like Jesus did. Living in this world is not easy. Living for Jesus is harder.

More so because Satan the Destroyer is out to get you when you follow Jesus. He is out to decieve you, tempt you, and wear you out.

So no, I do not agree that recieving the gift is the final answer. The Bible also says to take up your cross daily to follow Jesus.

Matthew 16:24-26 (NIV)
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

We as Christians do not need to feel content just to recieve the free gift from Jesus, who suffered and died for us. If we recieve it and do as we please means that we think we are better than Him and we don't have to work hard.

Ok. Let's start with the basics since you guys are having difficult grasping the point. I know AV loves these itemized question lists, but I'd like anya to answer them also. Answer each of the following:

Where did hell come from?
Who was hell prepared for?
Who goes to hell now?
Forever?
Does God want those going to hell to go to hell?
Why are those whom hell was not prepared for going there when God doesn't want them to go there?
What crime or sin is justifiably punishable by an eternity of suffering?
Can't an omnipotent God get what it wants?

Delphiki, I already answered your questions.

Romans 2:6-8 ESV
He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.

Proverbs 6:16-19(NIV)
16
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:

17
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,

18
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,

19
a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Revelation 21:8 ESV

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

1. Sexual immorality
2. Murder
3. Lying
4. Worshiping other gods or things
5. Sorcerers, mediums, witchcraft
6. adulterers
7. Not believing in God

This said, all these people and sinners can be forgiven if they repent and recieve the gift of Jesus's death on the cross.

In fact all of us would go to hell, that's the reason for Jesus.

My point isn't about the decisions of people. It's about the nature of the punishment that God has prepared for those who've supposedly made the wrong decisions.

It's about hell not being a justifiable punishment for anything.

It was prepared for the angels delphiki. They turned away from God and left their place in Heaven and their heavenly angelic bodies to come and have s e x with human women.

Satan's prideful and arrogant attitude also placed him there.

I do know if you search deep enough in the Bible, that there are levels of punishment and torture in hell, just like there are different levels of importance in Heaven according to the faith walk and works done by people. Some people suffer more than other's in hell, but they all suffer.

I understand the approach you are taking. If that is the case? Then, why are you here?

Why do you ask? Do you feel so threatened by people who regard your beliefs as silly that you wish they would just go away?
