What sort of gender stereotypes can you personally not stand?

I have too many to list... but I'll just mention chocolate. I can't stand chocolate and it makes me feel sick, I'm tired of getting it from random people who are interested in me. I wish they'd ask first instead of just assuming my food tastes (you'd have much better luck bringing me a large basket of hot wings!!).

Men have the right to be angry and be the boss of all things. Men should never have -what are those called, oh, right- feelings! Feelings are for those weeemen. No feels for you.

The responses in this thread so far don't seem very serious, so maybe my response is not going to be taken seriously.

Anyway, it bothers me when people say that men don't care about women or understand women's issues. The latest version of this is that men with daughters are more likely to hire/promote women. It is like people are saying that men basically do not care about women's opportunities and the only thing that changes that is a man having a daughter and wanting her to have opportunities. If I was in a powerful position I would go out of my way to listen to women, seek their input, and address their special concerns/needs such as affordable child care. The fact that people think that because I am a man I am not on my own capable of that bothers me.

This is a very valid concern as well. I've seen that attitude before, and it's very harmful.

There are lots of women who enjoy playing the traditional female gender role. That's cool, they need to do what makes them feel happiest and the best about themselves!

No one should care if a woman doesn't like to do that, though. If you don't like the way a woman acts and carries herself, don't approach her in the first place

I can't bring myself to complain about the chocolate stereotype. Bring it on, boys. I completely understand why you are annoyed, though.

I dislike the stereotype that women are indecisive and take too long to get ready for any event.

I never really liked the girl gamer stereotype. It's either hot women playing Call of Duty in their underwear, or the type of guys that think girls suck at games and we only play Cooking Mama and Animal Crossing. It's annoying.

Meh. I fit some of the stereotypes. I like chocolate, though not too much because I watch what I eat. I also like to look my best. I'm not obsessed with shopping though, or making awesome sandwiches. Sorry.

I just don't appreciate it when someone thinks less of me or finds me less likable if I enjoy things that are more commonly a guy's hobby, like paint balling or something. Don't box me in.
