In Jeremiah, God divorced Israel for worshiping other Gods, so in order to get back in covenant with them, the bible also says one has to die, since Israel was his bride. Roman 7 explains that concept better.

ROMANS 7

7 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? 2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. 4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

So God sent Jesus to die for our sins so Israel could be back in covenant with God and not be considered adultery and who ever gets saved is grafted into Israel.

Because He is obedient to God.
Because He loves His Father and always wants to please Him.

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love. John 15:10

The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him. John 8:29

Galatians translation Chapt 4

#1805 used 4 times in 4 verses, all in Epistles of Galatian, Ephesians, Colossians. Most versions render it as "redeem" though it could also mean "ransom".

4:5 That the ones under law he should be redeeming-out-from/exagorash <1805> (5661), that the sonship we may be receiving

Textus Rec.) Galatians 4:5 ina touV upo nomon exagorash ina thn uioqesian apolabwmen

Strong's Number G1805 matches the Greek ἐξαγοράζω (exagorazō), which occurs 4 times in 4 verses in the Greek concordance of the KJV

1805. exagorazo ex-ag-or-ad'-zo from 1537 and 59; to buy up, i.e. ransom; figuratively, to rescue from loss (improve opportunity):--redeem.
1537. ek ek or ex ex a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause; literal or figurative;
59. agorazo ag-or-ad'-zo from 58; properly, to go to market, i.e. (by implication) to purchase; specially, to redeem:--buy, redeem.

Why did Jesus keep the law?
"Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good."
Rom 7:12 (KJV)

"And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him."
Mat 3:15 (KJV)

I'm interested in both Biblical reasons and unsupported opinions.

Jesus kept the law for many reasons. One was to abide in His Fathers love:

John 15:10

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Another was to fulfill the law:

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Matthew 5:18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Matthew 5:19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

If He broke a commandment He could not fulfill the law because to do that Had to be sinless.

From a dispensationist's perspective, Jesus was born and lived His advent under the dispensation of Law.
Were/are there different dispensations of "Law"?
