CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not sure I like the idea of eating either Tims, or penguins. Tim Tam reminds me of Tiny Tim from Scrooge, and Penguins explode when too close to the telly. And now for something completely different:

(Judges 11) Jephthah's daughter. Oh sorry, this is not the what do you do with those nasty verses thread? Anyway the Jewish teaching of this is that she was not killed at all, and this is proven by their traditions. Instead she remained unmarried and childless, and with that understanding you can even see it in Scripture. But most Christians consider her roasted - therefore, girl scout cookies are now Scriptural. Thus sayeth GT

Certain religious groups discourage all forms of sugar. No candy, cookies, cake, jelly, jam, ice cream. Those are all sinful indulgences of pleasure. Speaking of which, do most of us here understand what all that could include? No wonder the marriage bed is viewed as sin by some.
