  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is a good little tool to have on your desktop and can still be downloaded from certain sites , either in the portable or exe version. I downloaded the exe version turned the internet off and then installed it , then went into program files and deleted it's updater so it couldn't update to the latest version of Iobit malware fighter...;)

It is important to keep one's anti-virus updated. I don't believe that disabling it's auto-updater was a good idea. Is there any reason why you did it?

Um yeah.... it's not an antivirus it's an antispyware and it's an old version and is hard to come by these days. People who remember this version liked it for the tools it offers which are not available in the new version.

I'm simply letting those people know that it's still out there to be got but you have to pull a few tricks to keep it , otherwise it will just update to the new version. Deleting the updater is one way of keeping it. There's plenty of sites offering warez cracks serials etc , but I prefer to avoid those.

An outdated antispyware program won't do you a whole lot of good. >.>

Wonna bet , I've tested this thing and it's HIPS [Host intrusion prevention system ] beats Spyware Terminator , spybot and a few others.

Just don't bother scanning with this coz your right , it's outdated and doesn't update , use malwarebytes instead.

Friar Tuck, I used to LOVE the IObit program. But the new one insists on taking over your security, and with Windows 8, it shuts down Windows Defender. I had to get rid of it, but it really was a good program at one time.

I do agree with you Vince and that's probably why people are going back to the original. Some of the new iobit products do try and take over including their Advanced system care 6&7 which will place stuff on your pc that you never asked for.
