• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am recovering from Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. I am symptom free from both disorders right now. I had intensive psychotherapy with a licensed Ph.D. psychologist, for 23 years. I also have been seeing a psychiatrist, and on medications for my Bipolar Disorder. I've been attending Alcoholics Anonymous for 23 years. Most importantly, I have been in a discipleship/mentorship relationship for 20 years.

There is plenty of hope, if you do all I have done. Get into therapy, with a licensed psychotherapist. See a psychiatrist for medication. Get your butt to Alcoholics Anonymous. Finally, ask a mature Christian to mentor you, and teach you what the Bible says about God's love and forgiveness.

As for seeking forgiveness for repeated sins, start studying the Bible, looking up the word forgive and forgiveness. BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 100 versions and 50 languages. is a terrific search engine for looking up Bible verses. Scripture says we only have to be born again ONE time. Also, 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, he forgives our sins. It doesn't place a limit on how many times. Study Romans 7, and see that the Apostle Paul struggled with sin. You are not unique in your struggle with sin. I've been there. Paul has been there. All of us struggle at times with sin.

I hope you are able to get the help you need.
