  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I took up cross stitching last spring and love it :) I'm planning to make some sort of knight-related one for my boyfriend for his birthday... where might I find a pattern like that? Also, does anyone know how to make a "favor"... you know, the kind ladies would bestow on their knights at jousts? I want to make him one of those too... not necessarily cross stitch, but still.

I have no patience for cross stitching. My mom and sisters would always have to finish it for me since I can only do half of it. :dontcare:

But it's pretty cool. I learned a couple of cross-stitching styles. I applaud you for making cross-stitches as your gifts. Your time, energy and patience are being tested but that's why it's called a labor of "love". :)

God bless you and your stitching! :cool1:

I'm working on a couple baby gifts, and then I also thought I would make something for each of my roommates as wedding presents.

Thanks :) I found the wedding ones, and a Valentine's one for my boyfriend :) I'm super excited for these projects!!

You are a busy gal :thumbsup:They make such nice gifts!

I had the patience, but at my age my eyesight is also a factor ~ even with a magnifying glass, it is very tiring and not enjoyable.

Looks like I will have to pick up my crochet hook or knitting needles some day instead ;)
