The traveller needs to conduct business in the village where everyone tells the truth.
A man from one of the villages is standing in the middle of the fork,
but there is no indication of which village he is from.
The traveller approaches the man and asks him one question.
From the villager's answer, he knows which road to follow.
What did the traveller ask?​

He rows the chicken across the river and leaves it on the far bank.
He rows back alone and picks up either of the others (I'll say the fox), whom he takes across and leaves, bringing the chicken back with him.
He leaves the chicken on the near bank and takes the corn across.
Leaving the corn and fox on the far bank he comes back for the chicken and takes it across.
