  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I"ve come to believe that the KJO movement is nothing more than a matter of convenience. Its just too hard to figure out what the bible authors meant by reading old hebrew texts and looking at different translations. Its much easier to assume that the KJV1611 bible is the one and only perfect bible and ignore anything else, especially if you just happen to speak English. While its true that the pedigrees of those involved in putting the KJV1611 together were impressive, they simply did not have access to all the earlier bible texts that we have today. In conclusion, I have found no good reason to believe that the KJV1611 is more perfect than any other.
Question: Do you believe that the KJV is the best Translation for today?
Answer: No, I believe the KJV is the only Translation for today.

Answer: No, I believe the KJV is the only Translation for today.

I always wanted to ask this. What leads you to believe that? Certainly not the KJV, right?

Oh... btw... what has dadology done for us? What has it produced? Nothing, you say?

Strange...
I try hard to bring nothing into creationism.

The Holy Spirit, which not only convinces me the KJV is the Translation for today, but He also helps others (like Peter Ruckman & Gail Riplinger) to point out things to us.

I believe the litmus test for Bible translations is the Johannine Comma.

In other words, if the Translations throughout history* were a skeleton, the Johannine Comma would be the spine.

The question was not what you bring into creationism, rather, what creationism (or in this case "dadology") brings to us.
The universal hardware you guys use to build the Internet highway you guys use to say God doesn't exist; not to mention the software that runs the universal hardware.

That would only be true if I agreed with you about creationism.

So, in this case in specific, did the Holy Spirit speak directly to you or was it mostly through Peter Ruckman and Gail Riplinger?

*It's a serious question by the way, I will not play the "you hear voices" game.

It's true, whether we believe it or not.

Initially, it was through our pastor; then I read Mr. Ruckman's book, Manuscript Evidence; and much of Ms. Ruckman's works for the details.

I didn't think you would. :)

Why can't you accept that the "truth" to you may not be the same as to other people?
There is one Truth we adhere to: Jesus Christ.

Then there are six basic truths we adhere to: call the fundamentals of our faith:

  1. verbal plenary inspiration of God's word
  2. the sin nature
  3. the deity of Christ
  4. Christ's vicarious sacrifice on the Cross
  5. Christ's death, burial, resurrection
  6. the second coming of Christ
(I think those are it, it's been awhile since I've studied them.)

Following that, we have our basic doctrines (which include the fundamentals): justification, adoption, sanctification, etc.

Following that, we speculate.

Strange that this "fairy tale" science is responsible for all the technology around you. It must all be fairy tales too. You must just be pretending to post on the internet, which is itself some big fairy tale. So is your computer and the electricity it runs on.

Oh... btw... what has dadology done for us? What has it produced? Nothing, you say?

No, none. The theories of a big bang and first life form give us not one thing. The truth of the bible, whatever you want to refer to it as gave us salvation, and enlightenment and freedom, and has the only key to unlock the future and past.

Any real world present time stuff is unrelated and one could refer to it as science.

Why? What makes the most questionable insertion not present in Biblical mss. until late Vulgate mss the veritable "spine" of the New Testament?

A shame one can't get a refund after the fact, eh?

Yet, the same methodology is used for present "time stuff," as for past "time stuff."

God's gifts are without repentance (refunds).

Yet, the same methodology is used for present "time stuff," as for past "time stuff."
Thanks for admitting that.

I'll ask this a second time ... (it was rhetorical the first time, but obviously someone doesn't get it):

What do you want God to do, fight against Himself?

Let me have a go at answering this...

If Team A believe God is on their side and team B also believe that God is on their side, and they face each other in some competition, then obviously one of them is mistaken when they claim that God is on their side. Since the each team's belief that God is on their side is just as strong and sincere as the other, it shows that a strong and sincere belief can be wrong. Sine of of the teams' belief is wrong despite the strength of their belief and the other team believes just as strongly, it is quite likely that they are both wrong, and God isn't on EITHER of their sides.

So let me ask you this, AV...

If Team A and Team B face each other and both teams claim that God is on their side, and yet God is on Team A's side, what can you tell me about the belief of Team B?

This is exactly what happened during the Civil War.

The South was pro-slavery.
The North was anti-slavery.
God broke the tie.
