Why does evolution not make sense to you?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.
I am saying that no one can say that God exists with complete certainty it is what they believe. Just as I cannot say that god does not exist but that is what I believe.
I am also saying that you need to take into account that the bible is book and cannot be used a proof for anything. Books contain stories and stories are used to persuade people to think a certain way.

Yeah but it's not just any book though, it's the word of God so it's different.

No it is not different. It is still a book, you need to be objective about it. It is extremely possible that the bible was written by a group of people that want others to think the way they do. And as I said before saying that it is the word of god would be somewhat wrong as god does not necessarily exist.

I still don't get what you mean. Cause I know in my heart that God exists, and I read the Bible and it's all in there.
Well in that case you will never get what I mean because you seem to lack the ability to be objective.

"a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws"

With this definition, can facts be found in other areas other than science?

"the knowledge gained by the study of the physical world"

With this definition, is fact found or created based by perception of observations?

I don't know that there is an area other than science because the scientific method can be applied to anything, therefore everything is science.

I'm not sure what you are asking here...

To Shane and Chris,

So everything is science? Is this not a circular argument then? You are basing all of your evidence as to why science is true from science. Basically, that argument is no better than the Christian circular argument,"God is real because the Bible says so and the Bible is God's Word and God is real."

What's up with this place being filled with atheists?

I thought this is a Christian forum where people love God.

This is an open forum for all religions and worldviews with the emphasis on all topics somehow pertaining to Christianity, or its affect on the Christian community. I love this place, and if you want fellowship with other believers without atheistic thinkers, you could try the Fellowship forum. It is Christians-only, and there are usually teens there(if you want fellowship with Christian teens). Of course, you could try the Christians-only teens section, but it has few visitors. :(

Anywho, welcome to CF!

Well science at the most basic of terms is simply making observations. You have to make observations to even have a though process. Religion would be part of science as you have to make observations to believe in religion.

Evolution is not 100% proven at all, even the greatest scientists in the world will admit that.
Science is always changing. There was a time when the best scientists believed the world was flat. There was a time when the best scientists believe the Earth was the center of the universe. Now, the best scientists believe in evolution. Science is not infallible, I have no trust in it.

Now God? Well, I'm a Pentecostal. Look at one of our services and SEE God for yourself.

That's an interesting observation. How do you know it is true?
Well science is just the name we give to our observations. If we didn't call it science as it is still is "Science" as it would be an obseey

Science is extremely close to completely proving evolution.
How could you have no trust in science, it gave to everything you have today.

Science is ever changing because our understanding of the universe is ever changing.

You see, I have trust in Science specifically because it is fallible. Science is willing to admit when it's wrong. Heck, in my science classes, an important part of every experiment is finding percent error-checking to see how wrong you are. We learn new things every day, and we have to be willing to change our theories in light of new evidence.

So does that mean that everything science says is wrong? No. It means that there is a remote chance that scientific things are incorrect. However, as current scientific principles fit with observed evidence, they do a very good job of explaining why things happen, and are almost certainly correct.

I am going to close this thread for review, hopefully this won't take too long. A couple of things though. 1) this is an area for older teens. If you do not fit the age requirement your post will be deleted and actioned. 2) although this is an area open to Christians and non-Christians the site wide rules apply here, namely: You will not insult or mock Christianity or any part of the Trinity-Father(God), Son(Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Honest debate about the nature of God and Christianity is allowed, but derogatory remarks will be promptly removed.

Eta, thread is now open. Carry on but please be mindful of the above.
