  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Scientific Noah's flood.

Then apparently Jesus' will involves quarterbacks winning their game, but not world peace or feeding starving children in Africa.
When Jesus was teaching the disciples how to pray I do not remember him saying anything about quarterbacks. I must have missed that part of the lesson.

Nonetheless, there are many athletes who pray before their big game, and who credit their subsequent victory to their prayers.

Or group of crystals.

OK, now I am questioning a beginning geologist:

Why is this not a rock? (bet you can not answer it)

How about you, RocksInMyHead? Like to try?

And many starving children who pray for a meal... and die starving.

I would call it a cluster of minerals. Generally, I wouldn't consider something to be a rock if it consists of crystals growing into free space

I'll be happy to compare credentials with you any time juve. In fact I'll be happy to post mine against yours and let the CF vote on it.

Why is this not a rock? (bet you can not answer it)
Because it is 100% crystalline material and not an aggregate grains. What makes you think it could be a rock by definition?

I don't see to see degrees to know which of you knows what they're talking about, and which is blowing smoke.

Exactly, evolutionists DO NOT have a proper degree in Theology, yet they still try to pass as experts on the subject. Even the ones that have never ever taken a class at a Bible School.

No wonder you are a geologist. I generally agree. What you said excludes a good part of hydrothermal deposits (and geode).
But, if so, how would you classify pegmatites or accumulates?
I think there should be a better way to say it.

It seems we can count the number of crystals in that piece. Can't we?

No matter how many you find the surveys all say the same thing:

So now what, we have to provide our transcript before we are qualified to post on this forum?

If that is what is needed, I would be glad to have transcripts sent from where I received my degrees (Univ. of Memphis, Dept. of Earth Sciences, 1975, 77) to one of the CF moderators for verification. I can provide a CV as well. I am not what AV calls an "Internet Scientist", I actually do possess credentials. :)

No, of course not, anyone is allowed to have an opinion and put it up for debate.

BUT...

...if someone makes a claim about their credentials and is then shown not to be able to live up to that claim, don't be surprised if they get shot down in flames and told a few home truths.
