  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is you first post and that's the best fight you can start???!!!---If God had not given them free will start with, they would not have been able to succumb to Satan's temptation, they would have been God's little robots---and no one knows what that fruit was.

Incorrect. They were brainwashed by god to begin with. If he had created them with a neutral worldview, and they chose god, they would have free will. But he created them to love him unconditionally, not with free will.

Also an intersting note, the bible says it's an apple. If you can't know this from reading the bible, you can't infer anything at all from it.

According to the Bible, Adam and Eve where competely obedient to god until the devil came and gave them the temptation to eat the apple. So, Satan actually gave humanity free will.

Er....no.

They had the choice to eat the apple before eating the fruit.

There are plenty of things wrong with that setup (setup being the operative word, in more ways than one) - this is not one of them.

It is clear from the Bible, that Adam and Eve were free to choose (as opposed to all the rest of their descendants).

No, it doesn't. Popular myth says it's an apple.

How complete is complete? Where does the Bible say anything about it?

Your premise is wrong, so your deduction is also wrong.

I always find it curious that certain posters are absolutely certain about what's in the Bible despite apparently not having read it.

In many cases, this thread is one, he is not. He just has a misconception. If he read the Scripture carefully a few times, he will find the mistake himself.

Since God is the parent of Adam and Eve, He raised them (in this can He programmed them) to be the best all human mature adults, but that does not mean they could be made “perfect”, (like Christ is since Christ is not a made individual). There are thing that are just not possible for even God to do and one of those things is to make beings with Godly type Love instinctively, since Godly type Love is not instinctive since that type “love” would be robotic. God also cannot force this “Love” on a being, since that would be like a shotgun wedding with God holding the shotgun. Adam and Eve would start out with a very strong Child for wonderful parent type of love and needing to obtain this Godly type Love.

So are you saying God is not capable of doing some things? Is he not omniscience?

Omniscience is a word we use to discribe God, so it is what God is like. If you want to say omniscience is being able to do even those things that cannot be done then God is not "your" omniscience.

Nice try, but I don’t own words, I don’t define words; I leave that up to Webster. Omniscience is a word we use to describe infinite knowledge. Omnipotent is a word we use to describe infinite power and ability. These terms apply wheather we are refering to God or anything else. People use the terms omnipotent, omniscient and others;(omnibenevolence & omnipresence) to describe your idea of God. If your God is unable to do some things, or does not know how to do certain things, then maybe people shouldn’t use the words omnipotent, or omniscient do describe him. What do you think?
