  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it hard?

I´ll file that in the same folder as "a good murderer kills his victims painlessly" and "a good rapist makes sure his victim lies comfortably".

You can do that. But I am talking about slavery. So your classification is meaningless.

A good human doesn't hold slaves.

There is no such thing as a good slave master. Anyone treating someone else as property is a moral monster. Again, what do you think is good about holding someone as property?

Because you want to love the one who serves you faithfully.

What question?

Why not? The man or woman is your property, if you can buy him or her, you can subsequently sell him or her. Buddy. If you can buy a slave, whom do you buy it from other than from someone who sells a slave? Buddy.

Read your bible, it clearly states that you can sell your slaves, although there are restrictions of the slave is hebrew (exodus 21:8). Buddy.

I really must ask by now, what do you think slavery is? I mean, you have clearly already shown that you are a sick little puppy, who thinks it is okay for one person to own another. But please enlighten me into how you think this can in any way be considered moral.

All of them.

Someone entering voluntary service with someone else is called servitude. A servant has the right to leave the arrangement at any time.

Slavery is done and always done without someone's consent. Now, I ask:

Do you think slavery should be legal? If so, how would you make it so? How would the state decide who goes into slavery or not?

No.

Legalize or not does not really address the nature of the issue.

Good mater-slave relationship only work at the personal level.

If you hold someone as property, you do not love them by definition. You do not own people you love. If you love a slave, you give him his freedom.

Again, what do you think slavery actually is? How can holding someone as property ever be considered moral?

One at a time. Please.

Uhm....sure?

They're in order. Do you want my permission to split it up into 3 posts or something?

Deal with them at your own pace. We're just trying to find out how on earth you can think there is anything moral about slavery at all.

No-one has the right to sell anyone. People are not property. Just one singular ugly concept of slavery that you apparently endorse.

Slavery is ugly because human could be ugly.

Otherwise, the master-slave relationship is the most beautiful one in the world. In human history, there are many many excellent examples.

Sorry. Where did you answer it? Point me to your post.

Alright, got it:

How would 'master-slave' relationships work if slavery is illegal?

Do you understand the difference also between servitude and slavery?

I only answer one question in one reply. So, the first one:

A slave may not be called a slave. That is one way it could work.

Don't forget the premise: A good master-slave relationship only works at a personal level. It should have nothing to do with law.

So you would in fact be in favour of legalising slavery if it was called something over than slavery?

If someone wants to be someone else's servant for life then that's up to them but they have the right to leave at any time.

Do you find it hard to try not to sin everyday? What do you to help you?

yeah I found it hard.

what helped me was to put myself on the throne instead of God. i realized that anyone that wants what they want over what i want does not really love me for who i am, but for who they want me to be. and I don't want to be anything and yet God made me and so God moves and I react by sinning against him. he says I can't blame him when he does good and I react in an evil way but I react in a evil way to that and blame God for making me experience loss and pain and suffering and hard work when all I want is to have never been created by him in the first place.

he made me and gave me the possibility to sin and yet he wants to blame me for all of it? no thanks. and for all you control freaks that get offended because I don't agree with God and your point of view, I have to say that you are sinning against me because you and your ways offend me and yet you are like God and always want things your way and so it is natural for you to want to oppose me. but you could care less if you sin against me but it is so important to you if I sin against you and God. ( hypocritical! )

I for one do not feel that way at all! In fact, I love you and care for you and want you to know that if you do not feel that anyone loves you, there is at least one person who does!

:hi:

:hi:

god refuses to bow down to me and so why should I bow down to him or you? you can love me all you want but it will not change the fact that your love is the very thing keeping me from getting what i want. though I refuse to be like satan exactly so I will become some other type of thing since I have to.

I understand, and no I do not want you to bow down to me. Perish the thought! For I am a man like you. :)

Tell me, what is it that you desire?

the end cause I want is= i don't want anything. but as you can see, God forces me against my will to exist. I want to not exist and I want anything that is me that wants to exist to also not exist.

I want what i want and not what god wants and so i have to suffer for it ( suffering, which is just another choice of God and not my choice )

Hmm...

So you don't want anything... but you want what you want and not what god wants?

Kind of hard to follow... could you explain what this means?

I want to be my concept of nothingness. I want to have never existed. to have never been thought of by God.
