Also, a Tunnel-Web Spider. This photo was hilarious, because I'm scared to death of spiders. I wanted to take a pic of the web, and when the flash went off it lit up what was inside and I screamed and fell backwards lol
Testing Canon EFS 15-77mm lens F2.8
I had the aperture wide open to blur the background and also max light, flash was not fired under 100W energy saving globe.
Got to see this old gal spring to life for the first time today following a lengthy restoration. It's a Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat that served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Its always so exciting seeing these old birds breathing their first breath of new life. This one marks my seventh one. This summer it will be added to an ever growing list of restored WWII aircraft flown each weekend between May and September.
Cool shot Jenny! That stump looks like a perfect picture frame!

Did some island hopping last Saturday! We flew around the San Juan Islands, making a stop at Roche Harbor, which is a privately owned strip on one of the islands.
Our home airport is somewhere under that fog! Unfortunately it arrived considerably sooner than what was forecast, so we had to turn around and find someplace else to land. Unfortunately both of us were not current on our instrument training, otherwise we could have made it.
So we landed here, Camano Island Airpfield. And yes, that is a significant uphill slant and a very short and narrow runway. The real adventure began once we were on the ground, and tried to give my wife directions on how to come and pick us up! lol
