you misinterpret me Danyc. It is far from self-flagellation. I am not afraid to speak the truth. Compared to God's standards I am worthless. But in the context of a personal relationship with God I am priceless in His eyes and mine. I do not despise myself or any other human. God loves us nd myself, and I also love others and myself.
The fact that I need God doesn't wipe away my dignity, it wipes away my hubris. It gives me true meaning and purpose, something atheism will always lack.
thanks for responding.
How does that work? You consider yourself worthless, yet priceless at the same time?
And yes, shackling yourself to a cosmic slave-master is certainly undignified. The idea that without God, you couldn't have any meaning or purpose is sick.... The meaning and purpose to your life is what you make it to be, which is far more fulfilling than what you speak of.
