I've heard rumors that Mr. Darwin wasn't saved, but that he got saved on his deathbed.

Wouldn't that be nice if you and I saw Mr. Darwin in Heaven?

Which were totally debunked.

Nothing new from AV here...

Are you offended by the idea that Darwin met Jesus on his deathbed?

You should be happy for the poor guy who spent his whole life searching for the meaning and purpose of life and could never find it until he met Jesus.

Don't be silly! I'm offended that you guys would lie to promote your fairy tales. BTW, you can't "meet" someone who died two thousand years ago.

As for Darwin, I wouuldn't necessarily consider him a "poor guy," as he did devote himself to science and came up with one of the most important ideas a human has ever had. Does that offend you?

I would be offended if someone said he made a death-bed conversion, mainly for the agenda of pushing a religious belief and trying to establish some credibility, because he didn't.

His daughter: "I was present at his deathbed. Lady Hope was not present during his last illness, or any illness. . . . He never recanted any of his scientific views, either then or earlier."

I rarely say this, but here's some answersingenesis for you.

You should be happy for the poor guy who spent his whole life searching for the meaning and purpose of life and could never find it until he met Jesus.

First, I don't recall seeing anywhere that he "spent his whole life searching for the meaning and purpose of life". Love to see that proof, otherwise, you should stop saying. Be honest, in your religion.

Second, you should be really happy that he died not believing in myths. Hooray!

It'd be neat if you met Darwin in Heaven and told you he never converted to Christianity after all, and that God told him personally that evolution is true.

Oh wait... this would be hell for you, wouldn't it, AV?

I'm confused. I thought Darwin was already a Christian and a trained clergymen before he came up with this theory.

If so, he would have probably been regarded as the Father of Theistic Evolution.

As it is, I believe he is just regarded as the Father of Evolution.

I do find it odd that you guys have yet to try and claim it as 'yours' and/or re-label it that way, yet...

I mean, that's the typical thing to do, when you can't deny it anymore, without starting to sound silly.

Slow moving?

I don't understand what you're saying.

Who is trying to claim evolution?

I said I thought Darwin is considered the Father of Evolution ... theistic or otherwise.

Nope. He first tried medical school, but was traumatized by it's barbarous nature after watching surgery performed on a child. He then was encouraged to try seminary but this was not his passion and he quit soon after. He then took sail with the HMS Beagle, and the rest, as they, is history.

Sounds like Darwin was bored to death with the real world, so he ran off and invented his own fantasy world, and his fantasy world, as they say, became history.

A fantasy world that has yet to be falsified, apparently, as all evidence for the past 150 years points to him being correct. :D

Ah the irony when a Christian who cherishes the KJV, derides a great man when the very church that composed the KJV honoured him by burying him in Westminster Abbey. :liturgy:
