Pray that we learn how to be content in the Lord with whatever happens next.
Ya know, I learned something in church today.

The sermon centered on Daniel 3 where King Nebuchadnezzar throws three Jews into the fiery furnace ... but a fourth man seems to join them in the furnace and the three are unharmed.
Daniel 3:24-25 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Our pastor pointed out that as an all-powerful entity God could have done many things, but that God did what God always does. God let the deeds of men play out ... while staying with his people.
Rev 7:13-17 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

That is an excellent lesson, and one I often remind myself of when I feel like I'm running through hard times alone.

Everything is set - Russia is asking Iran to attack Israel with them
I don't remember hearing that bit of news...

the Bible says that China will have a million man army marching down the Euphrates
I also fail to remember the Bible mentioning China anywhere in it...

American is not mentioned in this battle - but we have troups stationed all over and if the battle comes, how could we not be involved.
Yet China supposedly is. You'd think, with the US being as Biblically important as some believe, it would have been mentioned. Just like China...

Also, shouldn't this thread be in a different part of the forums?

Depends on where your theological beliefs lie if you find these in the Bible or not. This poster believes in the end times prophecies that so many seem ascribe to lately.

There are others of us who do not see all this in the Bible.

Since the OP talks about different countries invading others as well as the US, it could go here, though I do see your point about it too.

Is it? Sounds like its asking how to pray, and about end times theology. This thread isn't about politics. Does my inquiry about its germaneness bother you- RETS?

Not at all. I was asking out of curiosity.

The only difference in these end times prophecies is that the Bible says after Israel becomes a state then you will see all these things happening, look up your redemption is near.

It is like the powder keg is ready to be lit - Israel is surrounded by nothing but enemies, there is likely to be a battle over Jerusalem soon, these are the beginning of the end. Everything is set - Russia is asking Iran to attack Israel with them, the Bible says that China will have a million man army marching down the Euphrates, they have that - it is likely in all that battle many Muslims will be killed, since all those countries surrounding Israel has many Muslims and the Bible says 1/3 of the people will be killed I would say many Muslims will die.

American is not mentioned in this battle - but we have troups stationed all over and if the battle comes, how could we not be involved.

Israel has always been surrounded by enemies...

Hmm ...

"We three kings of Orient are." Oops, just a song ...

... not the Bible. How about this, instead?
Rev 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
India, China, Pakistan? How many possibilities ... how many kings?

Yet China supposedly is. You'd think, with the US being as Biblically important as some believe, it would have been mentioned.
Some think it is, LOL
Rev 12:1-6 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
And some don't ... like with many verses of scripture.

Why? It's turning more and more political.

Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia etc etc.

No, not really. Mentioning the location of Israel and its enemies does not make it political.

Yeah? And who says she's not? Look, if you're going to set yourself up as the Chief Pharissee of this board, tossing stones at Christians because you think their moral behavior is lacking, it seems that the least you could do is point out the alleged bad behavior of the Christian in question.

And you don't need to keep capitalizing "King." We get it. He calls Himself "shepherd, vinedresser, the Son of Man, the Son of God, King of Kings, the Potter, the Redeemer, Light, Love, Truth, the Lamb of God," and many other names. But you like "KING," because it gives you a chance to hurl judgemental rhetoric at those whom you have deemed to be imperfect subjects to this King.

But here's a little advice: No way you can match the Holy Spirit in manifesting the shortcomings of believers in order to bring them to the attention of the believers. The Spirit has inside knowledge of our sins. You don't. You're just a nag, and no one pays heed to nags.
Whoa, mote, beam!

No, because it's specific to politics.
This forum isn't just politics, but American politics. Leere's comments were on point. Also, what has socialism got to do with one world government?

Failing to see what israel has to do with this thread. Can we talk about Tibet?
What about Tibet?

Coming from a specifically Christian and as biblical position on this as I can...

The time of the end has been with us for the last two thousand years, St. Peter was clear on this in his sermon in the second chapter of the Acts of the Apostles. Two thousand years have come and gone, and another two thousand years could come and go. It's not ours to speculate over times and seasons, neither is it ours to worry about tomorrow, as tomorrow has its own problems.

Nation has risen against nation and kingdom against kingdom since the first man who hurled a rock against his neighbor; these things will continue right up until history is concluded.

Our prayer is to be what Christian prayer has always been: "Thy will be done."

There have always been people who think they have recognized the "signs of the times", for many that was when Rome was sacked by the Vandals; for many it was the Muslim armies marched on Byzantine lands; still others when the Black Death spread across Europe; then there was the first world war. And so on it goes.

Rather than trying to divine the future, our energy is better spent toward constructive pursuits: obedience, faithfulness, loving our neighbor, helping the poor, feeding the hungry, being a people of gentleness and kindness in imitation of Jesus Christ.

Apocalyptic-mania is a toxic obsession. Flee from it.

Ever read von Daniken? Chariots of the Gods really got me thinking ... he pointed out a lot of unexplained phenomena. His answers may be lacking ... but so have most other people's attempts to explain those things.

As for Bible prophecies, Wormwood did it for me.

NEW RELEASE! The 7 Trumpets of Revelation - Happening Now? Carl Gallups - YouTube

This explains a lot, really. That you would bring up that von Daniken nut is telling...

As to the OP. You can't stop it, right OP? So you might as well sit home and not vote this year. Pray for God's will to be done and it will be done. ;-)

This explains my beliefs too.

We will not know when the end will come. Predictions come and go all the time. Will one of them be correct? Probably. Are we to count on them? No.

1 Thessalonians 5: 1-4 reminds that we will not know when Christ will come again.

Hi, Touma.

I'll take that as high praise, LOL.

For the record, von Daniken sold more books than even the most popular musicians have sold albums: Erich von Däniken - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Erich Anton Paul von Däniken (born 14 April 1935 in Zofingen, Aargau) is a Swiss author best known for his controversial claims about extraterrestrial influences on early human culture, in books such as Chariots of the Gods?, published in 1968. Däniken is one of the main figures responsible for popularizing the "paleo-contact" and ancient astronaut hypotheses.

Däniken is a co-founder of the Archaeology, Astronautics and SETI Research Association (AAS RA), and designed the theme park Mystery Park in Interlaken, Switzerland, that first opened on 23 May 2003.[1] Däniken's first book, Chariots of the Gods?, was an immediate best seller in the United States, Europe and India, with subsequent books "according to von Däniken, have been translated into 32 languages and together have sold more than 63 million copies."

His ideas are largely rejected by scientists and academics, who categorize his work as pseudohistory and pseudoarchaeology.
Nevertheless, even many well-known scientists have read his works and commented on them.
Several scientists, such as Carl Sagan and I. S. Shklovskii, have written about Däniken's paleocontact and extraterrestrial visitation claims. While Sagan did not rule out the possibility of visitation, he said that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence", which Däniken fails to provide.

Not sure that's quite the way it works, Touma. Think of religion as an active sport. Consider the address to the church at Ephesus:
Rev 2:2-7 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
The addresses to the other six churches in Revelation are revealing as well. :)

Early human history is very big passion for me. Whackos like von Daniken and Giorgio Tsoulakis are not scientists. They are not knowlegeable regarding history. Even your own quote said "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence", which Däniken fails to provide."

There simply is NO evidence for ETs coming to earth and influencing human history. None. It is crazy. Beyond crazy. It is flat out stupid.
