Atheists have to assume that life began on its own. That is unlikely in the extreme to happen even once. As in: A monkey is more likely to produce the collected works of Shakespeare in the time it took Shakespeare to write it, than for life to suddenly come into existence on its own.

Now....imagine not having ONE single case of it...but 2....or 10...or 100...or 100.000.
That gives the atheists a serious problem :)

That is, of course, assuming that the development of life is a rare event.

Given that amino acids have been found elsewhere in the universe, I don't see how this assumption can be held.

BTW, I can see a thread in this discussion, but this is not the place for it. Would you like to start a thread for it?

Earlier you said that there is just too much space out there for there to not be any aliens. (this was said by Jodie Foster in the movie "Contact")
However, you do NOT understand just how big and powerful and intelligent God is.

No person truly does. That, however, is irrelevant to the point.
Furthermore, I did not say that there HAD to be - only that it is extremely likely.

Time is not an object which is too big for God.
Space is not an object which is too big for Him either.
God can simply think and be anywhere.
In fact, God doesn't even have to think to be anywhere.
I know this because Jesus is God, and He died, then in death He gave Himself LIFE again, from death!
Only God can do this!

This whole paragraph doesn't make sense. Jesus is God, yes! When He died, He rose again, yes! That takes a divine intervention - yes! But what bearing do these facts have on the topic we're discussing?

In any case, if there were aliens then their destiny and survival would end when God destroys this universe to create a new Heaven, a New Earth, and a New Jerusalem.

Maybe. Or maybe they're already AT the place where we are going to get? Maybe their history ended long ago? Maybe they're already in their "New Jerusalem" (= their equivalent), etc.
No, I'm not saying that IS the case, I'm saying we just...don't...know what God's plans for them, if they exist, are, and how far that plan has progressed.

This new place will not have the need for suns, moons, or stars.
Jesus Christ and His LIGHT will enlighten it!

Agreed! But also irrelevant to the issue at hand.

Also, if there were aliens then Jesus would have written about them in HIS BOOK the Holy Bible.

Why? What would be the motivation for God to put something like that in, when the topic of our being alone in the universe or not, is not at all relevant to what the Bible is: The story of God's plan for HUMANITY

But, there is no mention of any such creatures.

There is no mention of kangaroos, wombats, or lamas either. It then follows from the logic you're using that such creatures cannot exist.

The Holy Bible was written for our benefit SPECIFICALLY!

Yes, exactly! Part of my point as stated above - which is why the "If there were aliens, they'd be mentioned in the Bible"-argument is an automatic fail.

There are many things that are evidence that there are not any aliens.

For example? There are no evidence either pro or con that I know of. Only "circumstantial evidence", probability calculations, etc.

To even hope for alien life is to play with adultery against God.

What....how? Please explain to me how thinking that we are not the only intelligent biological life that God created in His image, is idolatry?

Our hope should be in Him, and no one else.

In the sense that only when God decides to close the curtain on this world, will things be restored to what His original plan for them was - yes! I'm not disputing that!

Most people I encounter who believe in aliens hope so desperately that the aliens will come here and govern us and teach us what they know.
Such hope is blaspheme against God.

How is wanting to learn from aliens blasphemy?
Not that I believe that we COULD learn anything other than maybe science from them - because anything else they'd have (arts, music, poetry, social sciences, etc) would be useless garble to us - but the question still remains.
Now, if people REPLACE God, and the hope in His second coming, with the hope that aliens will come from on high and make everything right - THEN your point about blasphemy would stand.
That's NOT, however, what I, or any Christian, is saying.

The life and intelligence which is "OUT THERE" is God Almighty, and He exists outside of this universe in a Spiritual Place and in a Spiritual Form.

No argument there - that God is outside this universe. What, however, is the relevancy to what we're talking about?

It is Jesus Christ of whom we should be lifting up our eyes to come back to earth to show us THE WAY, HIS WAY!

Agreed! All Christians look to THAT event as the one that will restore God's original intentions with the Earth. But again: WHAT IS YOUR POINT? I honestly fail to see why you're just repeating common knowledge and fundamental Christian beliefs in a discussion that has absolutely zero to do with any of those things.

Aliens are cool and all, but I make certain to NOT put my hope in anyone or anything other than JESUS CHRIST!

Amen! Neither aliens, nor we ourselves, can make a paradise of this Earth. That ship sailed when Adam ate that fruit. See my comment above, though!

Wanna read a short story about the End of Days, and about trusting in Jesus Christ during the great 7 year tribulation?
Then please read my short story titled: WHY ARE WE STILL HERE LORD?

JESUSisGOD.com/WHYAREWESTILLHERELORD.pdf
.

Not really. Stories like Left Behind are good movies and all, but horrible theology.

I forgive you UnamSanctam for mocking me.
I know you don't understand what you have done.
And if you do then I am asking Jesus right now to bind you up so you can no longer mock His Truth or abuse His Children.
.

Oh this is precious :D
What "have I done"? I've demonstrated that you made a nonsensical response to my post - one that you're now unwilling to defend, but instead decide to throw out slander.
I challenge you to show me WHERE I've mocked God's truth, or "abused" any child of God!

*raises hand sheepishly* I am.

I was raised on TNG, discovered TOS as a teenager, and I'm now rewatching DS9 on Netflix (which I paid scant attention to in high school but never got really into) and I'm now in awe of what an amazing and complex show it was. Never could get into Voyager or Enterprise.

The new movie was tons-o-fun though.

I think Q was quite an interesting character. It seemed like he was god-like, yet he had episodes where he seemed to not like that aspect of himself. I read a book called "I, Q." Sorry I can't remember the author. But I thought it was quite well done, and I personally felt like Q discovered the true God, Jehovah, at the end. I'd like to know what other folks think!

It wasn't that bad...

Please...
- Vulcan destroyed by a p.ssed off Romulan in a time-travelling mining vessel
- Starfleet's flagship manned by raw cadets not even officially graduated from the Academy yet - and its Captain likewise.
- McCoy as ship's doctor from the get-go.
- Totally messing up the storyline of canon Trek.

It was horrible. And I'm afraid that the next one is going to be more of the same...or worse!

As I said earlier: I'd like to see a movie (preferably a series, but I'll take a movie too), bringing Star Trek into the future. What does the 25th century bring? Have the Cardassians taken their seat on the Federation Council? What have happened between the Romulans and the Klingons? And is the Dominion going to be content staying on its side of the wormhole?
And many, many, many more questions like that.

Yeah, because that's by far the worst Trek had ever done.

Much worse than turning the Enterprise into a giant space temple made of stone (TNG Masks), people turning into giant salamanders (VOY Threshold), or Sisko's girlfriend turning out to be a figment of someone else's imagination (Second Sight, DS9), or an alien who gets off on watching people write stories (DS9, The Muse.)
